Spro Flappin Frog 65

SPRO Flappin Frog 65 gives bass anglers a topwater frog they can buzz across the surface or slow down around a promising opening. Its legs kick with slight forward movement, so you can change pace without changing baits. A floating elastomer body lets you stop it after a missed strike and give a fish another look.

Keep the Legs Working

Some days bass react to a fast, noisy retrieve; other days they want the frog walked back more slowly. The Flappin Frog is made for both approaches. Its Gamakatsu 4/0 Nano Smooth Coating double frog hook supports a weedless presentation around cover, while the TPE body is designed for durability. The real advantage is being able to experiment with speed and pauses on the same cast.

The Right Pick If...

You want a 65 mm topwater frog with kicking-leg, buzzing action for freshwater bass fishing. Choose it for moving surface presentations and the option to stop after a missed bite. For a popping presentation instead, compare the SPRO Bronzeye Popper Frog 60; for a smaller popper profile, see the Bronzeye Baby Popper 50.

How to Fish It

Cast past the cover you want to work and bring the frog across the surface so the legs kick and buzz. Vary the speed, then stop it near an opening or after a missed strike. Around thick vegetation, match it with a suitable frog setup; SPRO Bronzeye Braid 8X Moss Green is another line option to consider.

Tackle Express Tips

• Start with a steady retrieve, then slow down if fish follow without taking it.
• Pause near gaps in cover to give a fish time to come back.
• Check the legs and hook for weeds after each pass through vegetation.
