The Owner Mutu Light Circle Hook is the lighter-wire sibling of the Ringed Mutu, built for smaller baits, lighter line, and situations where bait action matters as much as hook strength. The light wire keeps anchovies, smelt, and small sardines lively longer, while the unique offset hangnail point delivers approximately 90% mouth-hooking rates — fish are hooked in the corner of the mouth, not gut-hooked, making release easy. Available in sizes 8 through 7/0 in Black Chrome finish, covering everything from small rockfish and calico bass on light line to larger live bait applications.

As with any circle hook, never set the hook. When you get bit, point the rod tip at the fish and wind until you feel the rod load up, then raise the rod tip slowly.

Key Features

• Light Wire Construction — Lighter gauge than the standard Mutu; keeps small baits (anchovies, smelt, small sardines) lively longer and minimizes bait damage on the hook.
• Offset Hangnail Point — Unique offset geometry delivers approximately 90% mouth-hooking rate; fish are hooked in the corner of the mouth rather than gut-hooked.
• Circle Hook Geometry — Inward-turned point self-sets on the retrieve; no hook-set required, reduces gut-hooking for catch-and-release fishing.
• Super-Sharp Forged Point — Owner needle point drives home quickly with minimal pressure; stays sharp through repeated use.
• Black Chrome Finish — Corrosion-resistant finish withstands saltwater and freshwater exposure.
• Wide Size Range — Sizes 8 through 7/0 cover small panfish and rockfish applications through larger live bait setups.

Best For

• Anchovies & Small Sardines — Sizes 4–1/0 for live anchovies and small sardines; light wire minimizes bait damage and keeps baits lively longer in the tank.
• Calico Bass & Rockfish — Sizes 4–1 for calico bass and rockfish on small live baits and cut bait; light wire and circle geometry ideal for light line fishing.
• Yellowtail & White Seabass on Light Line — Sizes 1/0–3/0 for yellowtail and white seabass on light line (up to 25 lb); the light wire and offset point deliver high mouth-hooking rates on finesse presentations.
• Chunk & Cut Bait — All sizes effective for chunk and cut bait applications; circle hook geometry prevents gut-hooking for easy release.
• Larger Live Bait — Sizes 4/0–7/0 for larger sardines and mackerel on bigger fish; light wire still provides good bait action at larger sizes.

Frequently Asked Questions

• What’s the difference between the Mutu Light and the Ringed Mutu Circle Hook? — The Mutu Light uses lighter wire and has no ring on the eye. It’s designed for smaller baits, lighter line, and situations where bait action is the priority. The Ringed Mutu uses heavier wire with a welded ring eye for bigger fish and heavier applications.
• What size Mutu Light is best for anchovies? — Size 4 to 1/0 depending on anchovy size. Smaller anchovies take a size 4 or 6; larger anchovies work well on a size 1 or 1/0.
• Do I need to set the hook with a circle hook? — No. Point the rod tip at the fish and wind until you feel the rod load up, then raise the rod tip slowly. The circle geometry self-sets in the corner of the mouth.
• Is the Mutu Light good for rockfish? — Yes. Sizes 2–1 are commonly used for rockfish on cut bait and small live baits. The light wire and circle geometry make release easy for catch-and-release rockfish fishing.

Rapala X-Rap Magnum 30 — Built for the Deep, Built for the Fight

When the big pelagics are holding at depth, you need a lure that can reach them. The Rapala X-Rap Magnum 30 (XRMAG-30) is a premium saltwater trolling lure engineered to dive down to 30 feet while maintaining a tight, lifelike action at trolling speeds up to 12 knots. Whether you're targeting wahoo, yellowfin tuna, sailfish, or mahi, this is the bait that gets down where the fish are.

Key Features

• 30-foot dive depth — reaches the strike zone where trophy fish hold
• Tank tested & swim-true certified — every lure approved by Rapala staff before it ships
• 4X strong VMC hooks — matched hardware eliminates weak points; don't swap them out
• Trolling speed range: up to 12 knots (optimal: 7–9 knots)
• Weight: 2.5 oz | Length: 6¼"
• Available in 11 proven saltwater color patterns including UV finishes

Pro Tips

The XRMAG-30's large diving lip creates significant drag at speed — pair it with 60–80 lb line for best performance and to handle the pressure of big game fish. We recommend trolling at 7–9 knots for maximum action. If hooks dull, sharpen them; if replacement is necessary, use VMC hooks matched to the original spec.
