SPRO Dean Rojas Bronzeye Baby Popper 50

SPRO Dean Rojas Bronzeye Baby Popper 50 packs popping-frog action into a compact 2-inch, 1/4-ounce hollow body. It is made for bass fishing around cover, with a popping lip that lets you vary the sound and pace instead of working the same retrieve all day. Cast into a pocket, give it a short pop, and pause to see whether fish want movement or a still target.

Small Frog, More Ways to Work It

Use quick twitches to walk it, pop or chug it for surface disturbance, or let it sit between moves. The weighted body is designed to land upright, and the 1/0 Gamakatsu EWG double hook is part of its compact topwater setup. When a larger profile makes more sense, compare the SPRO Bronzeye Popper Frog 60 or the SPRO Bronzeye Poppin' Frog 70.

The Right Pick If...

You want a smaller hollow-body popping frog for working openings and edges in freshwater bass cover. Its compact size gives you a different profile from the larger poppers; if fish respond better to a bigger surface presentation, size up rather than forcing the same retrieve.

How to Fish It

Cast beyond the opening you want to fish, then bring the frog in with short twitches and pauses. Alternate subtle walking action with louder pops to learn what gets attention. Around heavy vegetation, pair it with a suitable frog setup and consider SPRO Bronzeye Braid 8X Moss Green.

Tackle Express Tips

• Let the frog rest briefly after it lands upright before starting the retrieve.
• Try a quieter walk before switching to louder pops.
• Clear vegetation from the hook and lip between casts.
