Spike-It Scent Marker Pens

Spike-It Scent Marker Pens let you add color accents and scent to compatible soft plastic fishing lures. Use the marker tip to customize a tail, claw or small section of a bait without dipping the whole lure. Choose the color, scent and pack size together in the product selector.

Colors, scents and pack sizes

• Chartreuse 2-packs: Crawlic, Crawfish or Gamefish scent.
• Orange 2-packs: Garlic, Crawlic, Crawfish or Gamefish scent.
• Fire Red 2-packs: Garlic, Crawfish or Gamefish scent.
• Garlic multi-pack: 4 markers.

Each option labeled 2-Pack contains two pens. The garlic multi-pack contains four. These are scented markers, so they add scent as well as color.

Choosing and using a marker

Choose a color for the accent you want to create, then select the scent offered with it. Try a small tail or claw accent first so you can compare it with the bait's original appearance. Results can vary with the bait's base color and material.

Check the lure manufacturer's dye compatibility and the marker's package directions before applying. Do not assume every soft plastic formula accepts the same dye; test a small area on a spare bait first.

3 Tackle Express Tips

1. Change one detail at a time. Add a small tail accent before coloring a larger section, making it easier to compare presentations.
2. Keep an untreated bait for comparison. Check the dyed bait beside it in the water rather than judging the color only in the package.
3. Protect your gear. Apply over a disposable surface and recap the marker promptly. Keep freshly treated baits separate until ready to store according to the package directions.

Frequently asked questions

Do these pens add scent?

Yes. The scent named in the selected option accompanies the color treatment.

How many pens come in a pack?

The color-and-scent options marked 2-Pack contain two pens. The Garlic Scent Multi-Pack contains four.

Can I color just the tail of a bait?

Yes. The marker format lets you target small areas such as tails and claws.

Will these work on every soft plastic?

Check compatibility first. Soft plastic materials differ, and the bait's original color can affect the visible result. Follow both manufacturers' directions and test a spare bait before treating more.
