Shimano Neoprene Casting Reel Covers

Keep your casting reels looking ready for the next trip with Shimano Neoprene Casting Reel Covers. Soft neoprene provides a protective layer between your reel and the everyday bumps and scuffs that come with transporting and storing fishing gear. Three sizes accommodate different low-profile and round casting reels, while an interior loop gives you a place to attach a model or size tag.

When several outfits share a truck, boat or storage rack, a reel cover is a simple way to keep neighboring gear from rubbing against the reel body. Choose the size for your reel's shape and size class, rather than assuming one cover fits every casting reel.

Keep Scuffs Off Your Favorite Reel

These covers are a practical choice for anglers carrying bass casting setups, inshore outfits or round-reel jigging gear. Neoprene adds cushioning without the bulk of a hard case, but it is not a substitute for a rigid case when gear may be crushed. Remove the cover before fishing and let cleaned equipment dry before covering it for storage.

The Right Fit Starts with Reel Style

Start with the size guide below. Small is intended for compact low-profile reels; Medium spans larger low-profile and smaller round reels; Large is intended for larger round reels. Reel dimensions and handle configurations vary, so check the fit on your specific reel, especially with aftermarket handles or oversized knobs. A suitable cover should close without forcing it or putting pressure on the handle.

Protection and Organization in One Cover

• Neoprene construction helps cushion everyday bumps and reduce surface scuffs.
• Three sizes for different low-profile and round casting reel size classes.
• Interior loop for attaching a reel model or size identification tag.
• Black cover with Shimano branding.
• Useful for travel between trips, boat storage and organizing multiple casting outfits.

Compare Sizes Before You Choose

Use these size classes as a starting point and check your reel's body and handle clearance before use.

Best For the Trips Between Casts

Protect casting outfits used for bass fishing, inshore lure fishing and jigging during transport and storage. The cover's value is protecting the gear between sessions, not changing how the reel performs. It is especially useful when several rods and reels are carried together.

Tackle Express Tips

• Attach a model or size tag to the interior loop so similar covered reels are easier to identify.
• After saltwater use, clean your reel according to its care instructions and let both the reel and cover dry before storage.
• Check clearance around larger handle knobs and keep hooks away from the neoprene when packing your outfits.

Questions Before You Cover Up

Which size should I choose?
Match your reel style and size class to the table, then check the actual fit. Low-profile and round reels use different size ranges, and handle changes can affect clearance.

Can I use a casting cover for a spinning reel?
Choose a cover designed around the spinning reel's spool and bail instead. See our Shimano Neoprene Spinning Reel Covers for that reel style.

Does a neoprene cover replace reel maintenance?
No. Clean and dry your reel before storage. A cover helps reduce everyday contact and scuffs, but it does not replace routine care or a hard case for crush protection.
