How to use them

Apply to a clean, dry area of the lure, then test its behavior in water. The self-adhesive design is removable, and the flexible strips can be cut for smaller adjustments. Placement matters as well as total weight: adding weight nearer the nose can affect posture differently from placing it farther back.

Use them to experiment with crankbaits, jerkbaits, or hard swimbaits. Keep the lure's joints, hook hangers, and moving parts clear. You can concentrate additional weight by stacking pieces, but test one small change at a time. A strip can also be wrapped around a hook shank for a custom weighted setup; leave the point, barb, and eye unobstructed.

1. Test with the tackle you will fish. Fit the intended hooks, split rings, snap, and line before tuning. Changing those components afterward can change the result.
2. Start small. Add one dot or a trimmed section of strip, then observe the lure at rest and during a retrieve. Remove weight if the action or sink rate changes more than intended.

Frequently asked questions

Will these make any floating lure suspend?

They can help tune a lure toward suspension, but the result depends on its starting buoyancy, hardware, weight placement, and fishing conditions. Test rather than relying on a fixed piece count.

What is the difference between dots and strips?

Dots put weight in a compact area. Strips offer an elongated shape that can be trimmed or wrapped. The pack quantities and per-piece weights differ as shown above.

Can I remove the weights?

Yes. Storm describes them as removable. Peel carefully and check the lure's finish as you work.

Do I need to drill the lure?

No. The weights attach to the surface with adhesive, allowing you to adjust ballast without making a hole.
