Castaic Lake Fishing Report 1/1/23
North winds kept the lake on a “call before you go” basis all week. We’re still waiting on the second trout stocking of the year. The bite has slowed significantly as the numbers dwindle, but there are still a few out there to be caught. The Striped Bass fishing is better on the warmer days as they continue to school up on main-lake points. Trolled flies and umbrella rigs on lead core line will get bites in the thirty foot depth zone. Keep your speed down around 2.3 mph. Bass fishing is slow with a handful of fish being caught on the usual finesse techniques. Ned rigs and dropshot rigs.
