PowerPro Max-8 Multicolor Braided Line 1500 Yards

PowerPro Max-8 Multicolor Braided Line gives offshore anglers a practical way to track line out while fishing deep. Its 8-carrier construction combines a smooth profile with a repeating color sequence, helping you return a jig to the same zone instead of guessing on every drop. The 1500-yard spool is a useful choice for high-capacity reels or multiple fills, with the amount required depending on reel capacity and line test.

Keep Track of the Strike Zone

The line changes color every 25 feet, with four colors repeating every 100 feet. Count color sections as line leaves the reel to estimate how much line is out. When you get a bite, remember the count and use it as a reference on the next drop. Line out is not the same as vertical depth: current, boat drift and line angle all affect where your jig is fishing.

The Right Pick for Deep Jigging

Best for: offshore vertical jigging, repeated drops around marked fish, and appropriately matched tuna and yellowtail setups. Choose this multicolor version when a visible line-out reference matters more than a single-color main line, especially when fishing deeper water or trying to repeat a productive drop.

Select 65, 80 or 100 lb to match your reel, rod, leader, drag setting and target fish. Heavier test is not automatically the better choice: balance strength requirements against capacity and how your presentation behaves in current. Braid also needs an appropriate terminal leader and careful knot preparation; it is not a substitute for abrasion protection at the business end.

A Smooth Main Line with a Built-In Reference

• 8-carrier braided construction using Spectra fibers.
• Enhanced Body Technology (EBT) for a rounder, smoother line profile.
• Four-color sequence with 25-foot sections and a 100-foot repeat.
• 1500-yard bulk spools for reel filling.
• Available in 65, 80 and 100 lb tests.

Models & Specs

All three options use the multicolor 25-foot section pattern.

Make Every Drop More Repeatable

Start counting at a known color change, then track sections as the jig descends. Four complete sections represent 100 feet of line out. Work the jig through the intended zone with a retrieve suited to the jig, and adjust jig weight or boat positioning if current carries the line too far off vertical.

Finish a suitably matched setup with Seaguar Blue Label Fluorocarbon Leader. For heavier terminal-leader applications, consider Seaguar Blue Label Big Game leader material, selecting the leader strength and connection method for the complete rig rather than matching pound-test numbers alone.

Tackle Express Tips

• Load braid under steady tension and follow your reel manufacturer's spool-filling guidance to reduce loose wraps.
• Record the color count after a bite, but account for changes in drift and line angle before repeating the drop.
• Pull-test connections before fishing and inspect the braid and leader after rubbing structure or landing a fish.

Before You Spool Up

How often does the color change?
Every 25 feet. The four-color sequence repeats every 100 feet.

Does the color count show the jig's exact depth?
No. It estimates line out. The jig's vertical depth also depends on current, drift and line angle.

Which pound test should I choose?
Match 65, 80 or 100 lb to your reel capacity, rod rating, drag setting, leader and fishing application. Do not choose by target species alone.

Will one spool fill several reels?
The spool holds 1500 yards. The number of fills depends on each reel's capacity, the chosen line test and how much backing you use.
