Lucky Craft SP Pointer 48 Jerkbait

I have caught brown trout up to 18" and smallies up to 15" on Pointer Minnow 48mm lures. When conditions are shallow these are the lures that will still catch fish. Replacing the original hooks with Owner Stingers is suggested. Use these lures with confidence.

I agree that the original hooks are brittle, but they can be easily replaced with Owner ST-36 BC in size 12. I am tossing these lures in a small creek full of smallmouth, rock bass and sunfish. These lures are great in shallow water since they suspend, and do not run very deep. My first time out I caught and released over 20 fish, all in the small to medium size range in a couple hours of wading. I also used them with success on small stocked trout in NY that had ignored my larger lures of 65mm and 80mm. Pointer minnows are great.

Had a buddy use these on trout and he did very well so I ordered a few. They run true and the flash you get when you jerk them drives trout insane. My only qualm is that the hooks on the 48 are a little light so I swapped them out with a size larger.

The hooks are as sharp as you’ve come to expect from Lucky Craft. But they seem brittle and I’ve broken off a couple of them. They work fine. Catch fish. But you might want to swap out the hooks. (#12)
