The Tady 4/0 Iron is a heavy yoyo iron for vertical deep water jigging for yellowtail and bottom fish.  It works best for fish on deep structure or if you need to get jig to fall fast through the column to get past unwanted species.  The Tady 4/0 is one of our favorite heavy jigs, simply let if fall to the desired depth and then wind it up as fast as you can.  You can also pull the tip up fast and then drop the tip and repeat.  These are deadly on yellowtail and tuna!  

Color and hook manufacturer varies on each lure and may not be exactly like the picture shows.  Scratches are common on all Tady Lures, they get scratched in transit to us and these scratches don't impact its ability to catch fish.

In 2020, the color Toast was changed to Toasted.  The difference between the two is Toasted has a black tail.  We think it's a great change to the color making it an even more effective bait.

Hookup Baits Large Jigs have to be one of the most popular sizes Hookup Baits produces, the 5/8oz Red Crab and Mint are known as the "White Seabass Special"

There are many ways to fish the hookup bait but casting it out and letting it fall on a tight line will pendulum it down in an arc.  This can be very effective since it allows the bait to swim as it falls.  This is effective when fish are suspended in the column and not on the top or bottom.

If fish are on the bottom, we like to let it sink to the bottom and pop it off the bottom and then allowing it to sink back down.  Continue this retrieve all the way back to the boat or shore.

If they are in the upper part of the column, cast and start retrieving soon after the lure hits the surface.  Most of the time a slow and steady retrieve works best but you can also burn it on the surface for very active surface feeding fish.

The Tady TLC is a great white sea bass jig when rigged with a squid and the white glow color.  The other colors are great for a wide variety of fish when the bait is smaller or you need a more subtle presentation.  Don't let the size of this little guy fool you, it's heavy for its size and cast's very well.  

Vertical: To work it vertically, cast it or drop it straight under the boat.  Let it sink to the desired depth which could range from a few feet to several dozen feet.  Put the reel in gear and wind it back with a fast retrieve.  

Horizontal:  Cast it as far as possible and let it sink for a second or two and wind it straight back to the boat with a  fast retrieve.  

YoYo:  Cast it or drop it straight under the boat, let it sink to the desired depth, and one line is taught and the reel is in gear, drop the rod tip and then lift the rod tip 3-4 feet.  Drop the rod tip again and repeat without winding the reel.  After a few minutes if you're not already bit, wind it up a few cranks and repeat.
