JRI Custom Lures JRI-7 Surface Iron Jigs are a medium size surface iron, a great all around jig. The Halco Roosta Popper 135 is perfect for targeting game fish that are aggressively  attacking bait fish near or on the surface.  The hardware on these poppers is of the highest quality and will stand up to big fish like tuna, GT's, dorado, and peacock bass. They are best used with a heavy spinning rod and reel due to the higher inches of line retrieved per crank.  We prefer to have braided line with a short 3' top shot of monofilament or fluorocarbon.

While designed with a blooping style retrieve in mind, the Roosta Haymaker can be simply wound in at speed or trolled for excellent results.The recommended method of retrieval for best results is to point the rod tip at the lure, retrieve any slack line and firmly sweep the rod tip in a downward motion approximately 45 degrees. Allow the lure to rest for several seconds and if a fish hasn't taken the lure repeat as necessary.

The JRI Custom Lures JRI-3 Surface Iron Jigs are the widest kicking jig in the family. An excellent swim action with a very pronounced kick out to one side. It's during this kick out that triggers strikes from followers and non aggressive fish.  Also a great casting surface iron weighing in at 3.3 ounces and 6 inches long. JRI-3 seem to be most productive on a slow retrieve however conditions will determine that, gets bit on the medium retrieve as well. JRI Custom Lures JRI-3 Surface Iron Jig is the one that  the Locals always have at the ready for when they come up out of nowhere. Anything that swims or has fins loves it.

The Tady 9 is a thinner and more narrow version of the Tady A2 and Tady AA jigs.  This makes the jig fall faster due to less drag on the lure.  It also swims in a tighter pattern for when you need to burn it back when fish are the most active.  

Verticle: To work it vertically, cast it or drop it straight under the boat.  Let it sink to the desired depth which could range from a few feet to several dozen feet.  Put the reel in gear and wind it back with a fast retrieve.  

Horizontal:  Cast it as far as possible and let it sink for a second or two and wind it straight back to the boat with a  fast retrieve.  

YoYo:  Cast it or drop it straight under the boat, let it sink to the desired depth, and one line is taught and the reel is in gear, drop the rod tip and then lift the rod tip 3-4 feet.  Drop the rod tip again and repeat without winding the reel.  After a few minutes if you're not already bit, wind it up a few cranks and repeat.  

 There is no need to put any bait or scent on most Tady jigs, it's a reaction and if the bite is on, they will eat it.  Bait can actually impair the action of the jig so it's best just to tie straight to the ring on the iron.  We prefer throwing irons on 30# or 40# line in general but the size of the fish being caught, the size of your reel, and the weight of the jig all play a part in deciding what line to use.

Color and hook manufacturer varies on each lure and may not be exactly like the picture shows.  Scratches are common on all Tady Lures, they get scratched in transit to us and these scratches don't impact the ability to catch fish.

Salas 7X Jr Surface Iron Jigs are the same fish catching shape and action as the full sized 7X but in a bite size lure. Perfect when the fish are finicky or biting smaller bait.  Simply cast it, let it sink for a couple seconds, and retrieve at a moderate rate.  Too fast and it will wash out, too slow and it will have a lazy action.  You want to create a reaction in the fish, so make sure you fish it at the right speed.
