Built on the 32824NP-BN 2x strong hook, the Mustad Big Eye Bucktail Jig features two line tie positions to give the angler options.

The nose tie allows the angler to cast and retrieve the jig, mimicking a swimming action. The top tie allows the angler to employ a more traditional jigging retrieve. The best technique is to drop them to the bottom and then use 3-10 slow lifts with a short pause off the bottom to get it vibrating on the lift and then as it glides back down on the drop it will often get hit. They can be worked fast or slow, but the Vertrex Max is has huge vibration at slow speeds making it highly effective for this technique.

The Tady A2 is a very versatile jig that can be worked vertically, horizontally, or in a yoyo action.  The A2 is more squared off than the Tady AA and is slightly heavier.  

Vertical: To work it vertically, cast it or drop it straight under the boat.  Let it sink to the desired depth which could range from a few feet to several dozen feet.  Put the reel in gear and wind it back with a fast retrieve.  

Horizontal:  Cast it as far as possible and let it sink for a second or two and wind it straight back to the boat with a  fast retrieve.  

YoYo:  Cast it or drop it straight under the boat, let it sink to the desired depth, and one line is taught and the reel is in gear, drop the rod tip and then lift the rod tip 3-4 feet.  Drop the rod tip again and repeat without winding the reel.  After a few minutes if you're not already bit, wind it up a few cranks and repeat.  

There is no need to put any bait or scent on most Tady jigs, it's a reaction and if the bite is on, they will eat it.  Bait can actually impair the action of the jig so it's best just to tie straight to the ring on the iron.  We prefer throwing irons on 30# or 40# line in general but the size of the fish being caught, the size of your reel, and the weight of the jig all play a part in deciding what line to use.

JRI Custom Lures DW-1 Yo-Yo Iron Jigs the same body profile as JRI's Danny Wade surface iron just made out of Zinc making it a deadly Yo-Yo iron. Not as heavy as a brass jig, but there is just something about the DW-1 that just gets bit. When you hook a wahoo, don't stop turning the handle.  Even if the drag is peeling off your reel, keep winding until the fish gets to the boat.  The mouth of the wahoo is so hard, many times they aren't hooked.  They are so aggressive that they hold on even without being hooked.  As soon as the pressure on the fish is released, the fish will simply let go of the lure.

The Halco Roosta Popper 160 is perfect for targeting game fish that are aggressively  attacking bait fish near or on the surface.  The hardware on these poppers is of the highest quality and will stand up to big fish like tuna, GT's, dorado, and peacock bass. They are best used with a heavy spinning rod and reel due to the higher inches of line retrieved per crank.  We prefer to have braided line with a short 3' top shot of monofilament or fluorocarbon.

While designed with a blooping style retrieve in mind, the Roosta Haymaker can be simply wound in at speed or trolled for excellent results.The recommended method of retrieval for best results is to point the rod tip at the lure, retrieve any slack line and firmly sweep the rod tip in a downward motion approximately 45 degrees. Allow the lure to rest for several seconds and if a fish hasn't taken the lure repeat as necessary.

Roosta Popper 160 Specs

The Tady TLC is a great white sea bass jig when rigged with a squid and the white glow color.  The other colors are great for a wide variety of fish when the bait is smaller or you need a more subtle presentation.  Don't let the size of this little guy fool you, it's heavy for its size and cast's very well.
