Compact Tungsten Weight for More Feel on the Bottom

The Reins TG Tungsten Slip Sinker gives freshwater anglers a smaller, more sensitive alternative to traditional lead weights. Made with 95% tungsten and 5% nickel alloy, it has a specific gravity of 18.2 and is approximately 40% smaller than a comparable lead sinker. That compact profile helps your rig move through cover with less bulk while keeping more feedback in your hands.

Choose Black or Green Pumpkin, then match the weight to the depth, current, cover, and presentation you are fishing. The lineup runs from finesse-friendly 1/16 oz sizes through 1 oz options for heavier bottom-contact work.

Why the Smaller Profile Matters

A tungsten slip sinker puts less material around your line than lead for the same listed weight. That can help the rig enter cover more cleanly, maintain bottom contact, and transmit changes in bottom composition or a light bite more clearly. Reins also uses an inner core system designed to help reduce line abrasion as the sinker slides along the line.

The Right Pick If...

• You want a compact sliding weight for freshwater bass and other bottom-oriented presentations.
• You fish punching, flipping, Texas-rig, or other techniques where size and sensitivity both matter.
• You need a broad weight range, from 1/16 oz finesse work through 1 oz heavy cover and deeper water applications.
• You prefer tungsten's dense feel and reduced profile over a larger lead sinker.

How to Choose a Size

Start light when you are fishing shallow water, sparse cover, or a slower-falling presentation. Move up in weight when you need to hold bottom in deeper water, current, wind, or thick cover. The lighter 1/16 oz through 3/16 oz sizes suit finesse-minded rigs, while the 1/4 oz through 7/16 oz range covers many everyday bottom-contact situations. The 1/2 oz through 1 oz sizes are the choice when you need a faster fall or more authority in heavy cover.

Use the color that best fits your terminal-tackle setup: Black is a clean all-purpose choice, while Green Pumpkin keeps the look closer to common natural-color soft plastics.

Models & Specs

Available sizes: 1/16 oz, 3/32 oz, 1/8 oz, 3/16 oz, 1/4 oz, 5/16 oz, 3/8 oz, 7/16 oz, 1/2 oz, 5/8 oz, 3/4 oz, and 1 oz. Pack details for the 5/8 oz variant were not included in the current source listing, so they are not guessed here.

Tackle Express Tips

• Pair a lighter sinker with a more controlled fall, then increase weight until the rig reaches bottom without overpowering the presentation.
• When fishing around rock, wood, or vegetation, the compact tungsten shape can help the rig stay manageable without adding unnecessary bulk.
• Inspect the line around the sinker after fishing heavy cover. Replace damaged line before the next trip, even when using a line-protecting inner-core design.

The Reins TG Tungsten Nail Sinkers are pressed directly into the soft plastic bait — no threading on the line, no rigging changes. Press the nail sinker into the nose of a worm for a Neko rig, insert it into the middle of a wacky worm to control the sink rate, or press it into any soft bait to fine-tune the weight and balance of the presentation. Made from 95% tungsten / 5% nickel alloy, each nail sinker is 1.8× as dense as lead and environmentally safe. Available in five sizes from 1/16 oz to 3/16 oz with variable pack counts.

Key Features

• Press-In Design — Insert Directly Into the Bait — The nail sinker format is pressed directly into the soft plastic bait rather than threaded on the line; the nail shape allows it to be inserted into the nose, tail, or body of any soft plastic bait to add weight exactly where needed without changing the rig; the tungsten nail holds securely in the plastic without pulling out during the cast or retrieve.
• 95% Tungsten / 5% Nickel Alloy — 1.8× Denser Than Lead — The 95% tungsten composition makes each nail sinker 1.8× as dense as lead, producing a smaller, more compact nail profile at the same weight; the higher density also transmits vibration more efficiently, making bottom contact and subtle bites more detectable; the nickel alloy binder makes the sinker environmentally safe.
• Fine-Tune Any Presentation — Use nail sinkers to fine-tune the weight and balance of any soft plastic presentation; add weight to one side of a wacky worm to control the fall angle, insert into the nose of a weightless bait to slow the sink rate, or add weight to the tail of a swimbait to change the action; the nail format allows precise weight placement that a slip sinker or split shot cannot achieve.
• 5 Sizes — Variable Pack Counts — Five sizes from 1/16 oz to 3/16 oz; pack count decreases with weight (larger sinkers = fewer per pack).

Size & Pack Count Guide

Best For

• Neko Rig — Primary Application — Insert the nail sinker into the nose (head end) of a straight worm and hook through the middle with a wacky rig hook or O-ring; the nose weight causes the worm to fall head-down with the tail kicking up, producing a unique action on the fall and on the shake that triggers strikes from bass holding tight to bottom structure; use 1/8–3/16 oz for standard Neko rig depths.
• Wacky Rig — Sink Rate Control — Insert the nail sinker into the nose or tail of a wacky-rigged worm to control the sink rate and fall angle; a nail in the nose causes the worm to fall at an angle with the nose leading; a nail in the tail causes the opposite; use 1/16–3/32 oz for a slow, natural fall in shallow water and 1/8–3/16 oz for deeper water or when a faster sink rate is needed.
• Weightless Bait Fine-Tuning — Press a nail sinker into any weightless soft plastic to add a precise amount of weight without changing the rig; effective for slowing the sink rate of a weightless fluke, adding weight to one side of a soft jerkbait to change the fall angle, or adding nose weight to a creature bait on a weedless hook.

The Reins TG Tungsten Slip Sinker — Super Heavy Weight is the 1.5–2.5 oz range of Reins’ tungsten slip sinker lineup — built for punching heavy matted vegetation, deep water Texas rigs, and any application where maximum weight in a minimum profile is required. Made from 95% tungsten / 5% nickel alloy with a specific gravity of 18.2, each sinker is 40% smaller than its lead counterpart at the same weight and 1.8× as dense. The inner core system protects your line from abrasion inside the sinker bore. Available in Black and Green Pumpkin for color-matching to your worm or trailer. 1 per pack.

Key Features

• 95% Tungsten / 5% Nickel Alloy — Specific Gravity 18.2 — The 95% tungsten composition delivers a specific gravity of 18.2 — 1.8× denser than lead; the higher density means the sinker is 40% smaller than a lead sinker at the same weight, producing a more compact profile that punches through matted vegetation more easily and presents a smaller, less intrusive weight on the Texas rig; the nickel alloy binder makes the sinker environmentally safe compared to pure lead.
• 40% Smaller Profile — Better Punch-Through & Sensitivity — The compact tungsten profile punches through matted vegetation more efficiently than a lead sinker of the same weight; the smaller nose cuts through the mat cleanly and the higher density carries the bait through faster; the higher density also transmits bottom contact and subtle bites more clearly through the line, making it easier to detect bites in heavy cover where feel is critical.
• Inner Core Line Guard — Protects Line from Abrasion — The inner bore of the sinker features an inner core system that protects the line from being abraded by the tungsten as the sinker slides; tungsten is harder than lead and can cut line without a line guard; the inner core prevents line wear that could cause break-offs on big fish.
• Unique Shape — Reduced Hang-Ups — The sinker’s unique shape is designed to reduce hang-ups on bottom structure; the profile deflects off rocks, wood, and debris more efficiently than a standard bullet weight, keeping the bait moving through cover.
• Color-Matched — Black & Green Pumpkin — Available in Black and Green Pumpkin to match the color of your worm or trailer; color-matching the sinker to the bait creates a more natural, cohesive presentation that reduces the visual contrast between the sinker and the bait.
• 1 Per Pack — Super Heavy Weight Range — One sinker per pack in the super heavy weight range (1.5, 2.0, and 2.5 oz).

Weight Selection Guide

Best For

• Punching Heavy Matted Vegetation — The primary application for super heavy slip sinkers; the compact tungsten profile punches through thick matted hydrilla, milfoil, and lily pad mats more efficiently than lead; use 2.0–2.5 oz for the heaviest mats where a lighter sinker won’t penetrate; pair with a heavy flipping hook and a compact creature bait or chunk trailer.
• Deep Water Texas Rig — Use the 1.5–2.0 oz for deep water Texas rig applications (20–40 ft) where getting the bait to the bottom quickly is critical; the compact tungsten profile sinks faster than lead at the same weight and the higher sensitivity helps detect bites at depth on heavy fluorocarbon.
• Heavy Current — The super heavy weight range is effective in strong current situations (river fishing, tidal fisheries) where lighter sinkers are swept off the bottom; the compact profile also creates less drag in current than a larger lead sinker of the same weight.
