Nomad Tackle

The Nomad Madmacs High Speed Trolling Lure is a sinking super high speed trolling minnow capable of being trolled at speeds of up to 20kn for the 6" - 8" Model and up to 15kn for the 10" Model. Visit the Nomad Design Youtube channel for details on rigging to achieve maximum speed. The Madmacs can also be trolled as slow as 5kn and has an amazing vibrating action even at very low speeds due to the Autotune system.

It features the pat. Pending Autotune system which allows it to always troll straight and to run perfectly and with an amazing action at a huge range of speeds.  The ability to troll at all speeds makes this a must have lure in every spread. They will run at a depth of around 8-15ft when trolled at slower speeds and around 3-4ft depth when trolled super fast.

Featuring a machine-stamped stainless steel plate & full body foam core construction, it is one of the toughest lures available, and is up to any challenge. Fitted with super strong BKK hooks and Heavy Duty split rings the Nomad Madmacs is ready for battle.

The Madmacs High Speed Trolling Lure from Nomad Tackle is the result of decades of data collection and world-class design, based on the charter experience of the Nomad Sportfishing charter business. Every lure is crafted with a specific purpose in mind, and each lure is balanced and tested to ensure maximum efficacy. It works perfectly with the chosen hooks.

The Nomad DTX Minnow range represents the pinnacle of saltwater hard bait trolling lures. They have been proven to troll faster, dive deeper and always run straight and are the new standard by which all other saltwater hard baits are judged.

Patented Autotune Tow-point System which allows the lure to self centre. No more pulling out, swimming to the side or having to constantly adjust your blue-water trolling baits to make them swim straight.

140mm - Floating - 1.75oz - 30ft - 2 to 10kn

Get a big trolling minnow down and tracking true. The Nomad DTX Minnow 220 Heavy Duty pairs its Autotune tow point and bib system with a Hydrospeed belly eyelet for a deep-running, straight-swimming presentation. Its distressed-baitfish action is built for offshore trolling when tuna, wahoo, mackerel, or mahi mahi are on the menu.

When Your Spread Needs a Deep Runner

A lure that wanders or blows out at speed can cost you fishing time. This DTX design is intended to track straight while running deep, with a reinforced Gorilla Through Wire build for demanding offshore use. Troll at speeds up to 14 knots and adjust your setup to find the depth and action you want; depth varies with line, distance behind the boat, speed, and conditions.

The Right Pick If...

You're building an offshore trolling spread and want a large minnow with a distressed-baitfish swim and deep-running design. If you need a smaller profile or a shallower-running option, compare the other DTX models below. This is specialized trolling tackle rather than an all-purpose casting lure.

Best For

• Offshore trolling for tuna, wahoo, mackerel, and mahi mahi.
• Deep-running minnow presentations where straight tracking matters.
• Working a mixed trolling spread with different lure sizes or running depths.

Key Features

• Autotune tow point and bib system designed to keep the lure tracking true.
• Concealed Hydrospeed belly eyelet for faster trolling applications.
• Gorilla Through Wire construction and distressed-baitfish swimming action.
• Designed and tested by the Nomad Sportfishing Team in Australia.

Choose a Pattern for the Spread

Use mackerel, sardine, or pilchard-inspired finishes when they suit the bait around you; try Hot Pink or another high-contrast pattern when you want a more visible option. Select your color using the variants and photos.

How to Fish It

Set it behind the boat in a position that gives it clean water, then watch the lure's action and adjust speed and line length if it stops tracking consistently. Check the tow point, leader, and hooks before deployment, and match tackle strength to your target fish.

Tackle Express Tips

• Watch the lure at your actual trolling speed before setting the full spread.
• Vary setback and speed to dial in depth and tracking rather than treating a listed depth as fixed.
• Inspect the bib, hooks, and leader after strikes or hard contact.

Quick Answers

How deep does it run? It can run over 50 ft, depending on trolling speed, line, and setback.

How fast can I troll it? Up to 14 knots; check that it tracks cleanly at your chosen speed.

What species is it suited to? Tuna, wahoo, mackerel, and mahi mahi are strong offshore trolling applications.

The Nomad Tackle VERTREX MAX soft vibe is all about maximum vibration and maximum depth. It has a lifelike action that sinks level and straight, getting down to the fish faster. The deep body profile combined with finely tuned internal weights delivers a soft vibration bait with a huge vibration at super slow speed and even more vibration at higher speeds. The amount of vibration you can achieve at slow speeds just gently hopping this lure on or near the bottom is what sets the Vertrex Max apart from all other soft vibration baits. The deeper body with a wide belly design ensures that even at slow speeds the Vertrex Max is vibrating and attracting attention. The Vertrex features a full wire internal construction for extra strength and is fitted with the ultimate BKK hooks so you can fish it straight out of the box.

Vertrex Max Soft Vibe is suited to be fished at depths from 40ft-200ft of water. The Vertrex Max can be fished in a similar way to a slow pitch jig. The best technique is to drop them to the bottom and then use 3-10 slow lifts with a short pause off the bottom to get it vibrating on the lift and then as it glides back down on the drop it will often get hit. They can be worked fast or slow, but the Vertrex Max is has huge vibration at slow speeds making it highly effective for this technique.

The Nomad Design Riptide is a premium range of saltwater stickbaits and poppers engineered for serious anglers targeting powerful predators like tuna, GT (giant trevally), kingfish, wahoo, and mahi-mahi. Key Features:

• Long casting design for covering more water and reaching distant fish

• Realistic, darting baitfish action that triggers aggressive strikes

• Internal Matrix Metal Plate System for extreme strength and hook hold

• Heavy-duty ABS construction built to withstand brutal saltwater battles

• High-quality finish and paintwork for maximum visual appeal

Whether you're fishing from the shore, boat, or reef edge, Nomad Riptide lures are ideal for topwater and sub-surface fishing. Perfect for offshore anglers looking to catch their next trophy fish.

Comes fitted with 2 x Inline Single Hooks.

When a squid profile gets the look

When fish ignore a straight retrieve, the Nomad Design Live Ops JerkSquid gives you two cues in one soft bait: a sharp dart on the twitch and flowing tentacle movement that keeps working as the lure slows. Its keel-shaped body is designed to glide through the strike zone, while Titan-RX TPE construction, Reactor UV + Glow technology, and Tracer scent add durability, visibility, and an attractant to the presentation.

Make the pause count

Work it with quick, crisp twitches for an erratic dart, slow down for a measured twitch-and-pause, or let it sit for a natural sinking presentation. The versatile cadence makes it a strong option when you want to change speed without changing lures. As a soft plastic, it needs a suitable rigging setup; the product details here do not specify a recommended hook or rig weight, so match those to your conditions and check fit before pairing.

Pick the size for your target

Choose from five body lengths, with pack counts and available colors varying by size. The 3.25-inch size is listed for calico, sand, and spotted bay bass; the 4-inch for white seabass, halibut, and yellowtail; the 5-inch for yellowtail, tuna, and dorado; and the 7-inch for tuna, wahoo, and other large gamefish. The 9-inch option gives you the largest profile in the lineup.

Models, pack counts & color SKUs

Color availability is size-specific. Start with Natural Tiger for a subtler look, or choose Pearl White, Bone Tiger, Chartreuse Tiger, Pink Tiger, or Ultra Penny UV to suit the visibility and contrast you want.

Best for inshore and offshore saltwater

Reach for the JerkSquid when you want a squid-inspired soft bait for calico bass, sand bass, spotted bay bass, white seabass, halibut, yellowtail, tuna, dorado, or wahoo. The smaller 3.25-inch offering is the listed pick for inshore bass; step up through 4- and 5-inch sizes for seabass, halibut, yellowtail, tuna, and dorado, or choose 7 inches for a bigger-game presentation.

Key features

• Keel-shaped body for a natural glide through the strike zone.
• Darting jerkbait action paired with flowing squid tentacles.
• Titan-RX TPE material for a durable soft-plastic body.
• Reactor UV + Glow technology and Tracer scent infusion.
• Five sizes, from 3.25 to 9 inches, with size-dependent colors and pack counts.

Tackle Express tips

• Begin with a sharp twitch followed by a pause; vary the pause length before changing lures.
• For inshore bass, start with the 3.25-inch size and its listed 6-piece pack.
• For larger targets, use the listed species and size guide above, and verify hook fit and rig weight rather than assuming a one-size-fits-all setup.

Common questions

What makes the JerkSquid different from a standard soft jerkbait?
It combines a darting body action with flowing squid tentacles, plus the listed UV + Glow technology and Tracer scent infusion.

Which size should I choose for yellowtail?
The listing names both 4-inch and 5-inch sizes for yellowtail. Choose between the 5-piece 4-inch pack and the 4-piece 5-inch pack based on the profile you want.

Are all colors available in every size?
No. Color options vary by size; use the model and SKU table to confirm the exact color selection for each size.

Bring a squid-shaped vibration down to the fish

The Nomad Squidtrex 95 Vibe pairs a soft TPE squid body with a sinking, max-vibration action. Its tentacles keep moving as it sinks or rests, while the vibration gives fish a strong signal to track. Cast it toward structure or feeding fish, work it vertically, or troll it when you want that pulsing wobble in the presentation.

Heavy-duty through-wire construction and heavy-gauge hooks are built for powerful fish. Twin assist hooks come fitted, and a belly eyelet gives you an additional hook-placement option when needed.

Choose the presentation that fits the water

Cast toward structure or visible feeding fish and retrieve it subsurface with a steady or stop-and-start cadence. For vertical jigging, let the sinking bait reach your target zone and work it through the water column. The listing also describes trolling at medium to high speeds, where the lure produces a pronounced wobble. Its listed depth is up to 130 feet.

When the Squidtrex 95 earns a spot

Choose this model when you want a compact, sinking squid profile with built-in vibration for casting, vertical jigging, or trolling. Its fitted twin assist hooks and through-wire build make it a ready-to-fish option for anglers after larger saltwater fish. The product details do not name target species, so match the lure to the fish and local regulations where you fish.

Tackle Express tips

• When casting, aim around structure or feeding fish and keep the retrieve subsurface; alternate a steady retrieve with short pauses.
• For vertical jigging, use the sinking action to reach the target depth, then work the lure through that zone.
• If trolling, start within the medium-to-high speed range described for this lure and adjust to your boat and conditions.

Common questions

How big and heavy is the Squidtrex 95?
It measures 95 mm (3 3/4 inches) and the product listing gives a lure weight of 1 oz.

How deep can it run?
The listed depth is up to 130 feet. Treat that as the product’s stated capability, not a guaranteed running depth in every setup.

What hooks come fitted?
The listing specifies twin assist hooks. A belly eyelet is also provided for an additional hook placement when needed.

The Nomad Design DTX Minnow 200 Heavy Duty puts an 8-inch sinking minnow into your offshore trolling spread when you want a substantial baitfish profile below the surface. Its Autotune system and reinforced construction make it a purpose-built option for saltwater trolling, with a listed 3–12-knot working range and BKK Diablo 5X single hooks.

When you find promising water, put it into clean water behind the boat and check its swim before setting the rest of your spread. The goal is a consistent presentation you can keep fishing, not a lure that needs constant attention.

Keep Your Deep Runner Tracking

A trolling minnow that wanders can disrupt the spread. The DTX combines Nomad's Autotune system with a Hydrospeed belly eyelet to support its trolling performance. Metal Matrix and Diamond Armor systems add reinforcement for demanding saltwater use. Running depth depends on line, leader, speed, setback, and water conditions; treat the listed 40-foot depth as setup-dependent rather than a fixed depth at every speed.

The Right Pick If...

You want a sinking, deep-running trolling minnow for offshore searching and covering productive water. It suits anglers building a spread for tuna and yellowtail, especially when bait or fish are holding below surface presentations. This is specialized trolling tackle, not the first choice for a lightweight casting setup or a shallow-water presentation.

For a larger profile, compare the Nomad DTX Minnow 220 Heavy Duty. For a shallower floating option, look at the DTX Minnow 180 Heavy Duty Shallow FLT.

Best For

• Offshore saltwater trolling for tuna and yellowtail.
• Adding a subsurface minnow presentation to a mixed trolling spread.
• Covering open water and productive bait areas with tackle matched to your target fish.

Key Features

• Autotune system for trolling performance.
• Metal Matrix plate system and Diamond Armor internal strength system.
• Hydrospeed belly eyelet technology.
• Sinking action and an 8-inch baitfish profile.
• BKK Diablo 5X single hooks in size 11/0.
• Designed and tested by the Nomad Sportfishing Team in Australia.

Choose a Pattern for Your Spread

Start with Sardine, Candy Pilchard, or a mackerel pattern when those finishes suit the bait around you. Hot Pink and Pink Lava give you contrasting options to test alongside more natural patterns. Use the color selector and photos to choose your finish; vary patterns and watch what gets attention rather than relying on one color for every trip.

Set It Up for a Clean Swim

Pair it with an offshore trolling rod, reel, and leader matched to the fish you expect to encounter. Deploy it where it can swim without fouling other lines, check its action at your chosen speed, and adjust setback and speed as needed. Keep the leader connection clean and inspect hooks, attachment points, and the bib before each deployment.

Tackle Express Tips

• Watch the lure beside or behind the boat at your actual trolling speed before sending it into position.
• Change one variable at a time, such as setback or speed, so you can track what improves the presentation.
• Rinse and dry the lure after saltwater use, and inspect the hooks and leader after a strike.

Quick Answers

How deep does the DTX Minnow 200 Heavy Duty run?
Its listed running depth is 40 feet. Actual depth varies with your line, leader, trolling speed, setback, and conditions.

What trolling speed is it designed for?
The listed range is 3–12 knots. Check that the lure tracks consistently at the speed and position you use.

Does it float or sink?
This 200 Heavy Duty model is sinking. Choose the 180 Heavy Duty Shallow FLT if you want a shallower floating DTX option.

What hooks come fitted?
The listing specifies BKK Diablo 5X single hooks in size 11/0.

When You Need to Go Deeper and Hit Harder

The Nomad Tackle Streaker Jig 420g is the heaviest jig in the Streaker lineup — purpose-built for extreme depth, heavy current, and the kind of big-game targets that demand serious hardware. At 15 oz, it drops fast, stays vertical in strong current, and delivers the same erratic, darting action that makes the Streaker series so effective. When the fish are holding at 300, 400, or 500+ feet and lighter jigs can't reach the zone, the 420g gets the job done.

Built for the Conditions That Break Other Jigs

Extreme depth and big fish are a brutal combination. The 420g Streaker is engineered to handle both. Gorilla Through-Wire construction runs a full wire through the entire body, so even a 100 lb bluefin can't pull the hook hardware free. Triple Shield Protection finish resists corrosion and chipping through repeated drops and hard strikes. And the BKK 5X Assist 5/0 hooks are heavy-duty enough to handle whatever you're targeting. This is a jig you can trust when the stakes are high.

Why Heavy Wins at Depth

At extreme depths, lighter jigs lose their action — current pushes them off angle, they take too long to reach the strike zone, and by the time they get there the school has moved. The 420g Streaker cuts through current, sinks fast, and maintains a vertical presentation even in heavy drift conditions. More time in the zone means more bites, and more bites at depth means more fish in the boat.

The Right Pick If...

• You're fishing 200–600+ ft for bluefin, yellowfin, or large amberjack
• Current is strong and lighter jigs won't stay vertical
• You need maximum sink rate to reach fish before the school moves
• You're targeting trophy-class fish that require heavy-duty hooks and construction
• You're on a long-range trip where depth and current are constant challenges

Best Fishing Techniques

• High-Pitch Jigging: Fast, sharp upward rod strokes with a quick drop — the Streaker's erratic flutter on the fall triggers strikes even at extreme depth
• Speed Jigging: Continuous medium-to-fast retrieve with the rod tip low — keeps the jig swimming tight and aggressive through the water column
• Vertical Jigging: Drop to depth, engage, and work back up with varied cadence — most effective when fish are stacked tight on structure or bait

Best Conditions

• Deep water: 200–600+ ft
• Heavy current where only a 420g+ jig maintains a vertical presentation
• Offshore seamounts, deep structure, and open-water bait schools
• Clear to moderate visibility — natural patterns like Blue Sardine and Crimson Tide shine here
• Low-light and deep conditions — glow variants (Rasta Glow, Full Glow Pink, Silver Glow Stripe, Glow Pink Mackerel) are standout producers

Best For

• Species: Bluefin Tuna, Yellowfin Tuna, Bigeye Tuna, Yellowtail, Large Amberjack, Wahoo
• Techniques: High-pitch jigging, speed jigging, vertical jigging
• Scenarios: Long-range offshore trips, extreme deep-water structure fishing, heavy-current conditions

Key Features

• Streaker Swim Action — erratic, darting movement that triggers reaction bites at extreme depth
• Gorilla Through-Wire Construction — full-body wire for maximum strength on trophy-class fish
• Triple Shield Protection — multi-layer finish resists corrosion and chipping
• BKK 5X Assist 5/0 Hooks — heavy-duty premium hooks fitted from the factory
• Fast-Sink Design — long, slender profile with slightly flat back for maximum sink rate
• 8 Color Options — natural baitfish patterns and glow variants for all conditions and depths

Models & Specs

Tackle Express Tips

• Match your rod to the weight: A 420g jig needs a rod rated for heavy jigging — look for a stick rated 300–500g or a dedicated speed jigging rod. Using an undersized rod kills the action and risks breakage on a big fish.
• Go glow first: At the depths the 420g is designed for, natural light is minimal. Start with Rasta Glow, Full Glow Pink, or Glow Pink Mackerel and charge them with a UV light between drops. Switch to natural patterns if glow isn't producing.
• Watch your line angle: Even at 420g, strong current can push your line off vertical. If your angle exceeds 30–40 degrees, reposition the boat or add more weight. A diagonal presentation dramatically reduces the jig's effectiveness.

FAQ

How does the 420g compare to the 200g and 320g Streaker?
The 420g is the top of the Streaker lineup — built for the deepest water, strongest current, and largest fish. Use the 200g for depths under 150 ft, the 320g for 150–300 ft in moderate current, and the 420g when you're pushing 300+ ft or dealing with heavy drift.

What rod and reel setup should I use with the 420g Streaker?
Look for a heavy jigging rod rated 300–500g paired with a high-speed jigging reel (6:1+ gear ratio). Spool with 80–100 lb braid and run a 100–150 lb fluorocarbon leader. For toothy species, go heavier on the leader.

What's Rasta Glow and when should I use it?
Rasta Glow is a multi-color glow pattern that combines green, red, and yellow tones with a glow finish. It's a standout producer in low-light conditions and at extreme depth where natural light doesn't reach. It's one of the most popular colors in the 420g lineup for a reason.

Built for the Deep End of the Water Column

The Nomad Tackle Streaker Jig 320g is the heavier sibling in the Streaker lineup — built for anglers who fish deep, fast, and hard. At 11 oz, it cuts through current and reaches depth quickly, getting into the strike zone before the school moves. The long, slender profile with a slightly flat back creates an erratic, darting action that triggers reaction strikes from predators that won't commit to anything slow. When the fish are holding deep and the bite window is short, the 320g Streaker is the jig you reach for.

When the 200g Isn't Enough

Strong current, deep structure, and big fish demand more weight. The 320g Streaker sinks faster, stays down in heavy current, and handles the kind of drag pressure that comes with targeting large yellowtail, bluefin, and amberjack. The extra mass also gives you more authority on the hookset — critical when you're fishing 200+ feet down with a long braid run. If you've been losing fish or struggling to stay vertical in current, stepping up to the 320g is often the fix.

What Standard Wire Gets Wrong

Big fish don't give you second chances. Standard jig construction can fail at the hook hardware when a large fish runs hard — the body separates and the fish is gone. Nomad's Gorilla Through-Wire construction runs a full wire through the entire body, so even the most violent strikes and runs can't pull the hardware free. Paired with Triple Shield Protection finish that resists corrosion and chipping, this jig is built to stay in the water and keep producing.

The Right Pick If...

• You're fishing 150–500+ ft for tuna, yellowtail, or amberjack
• Current is strong and lighter jigs won't stay vertical
• You need a fast-sinking profile to reach depth before the school moves
• You're targeting big fish that require heavier hardware and stronger hooks
• You want a jig that matches sardine, mackerel, or larger baitfish profiles

Best Fishing Techniques

• High-Pitch Jigging: Fast, sharp upward rod strokes with a quick drop — the Streaker's erratic flutter on the fall is a key trigger at depth
• Speed Jigging: Continuous medium-to-fast retrieve with the rod tip low — keeps the jig swimming tight and aggressive through the water column
• Vertical Jigging: Drop to depth, engage, and work back up with varied cadence — effective when fish are stacked on structure

Best Conditions

• Deep water: 150–500+ ft
• Strong current where heavier jigs maintain a vertical presentation
• Offshore structure, seamounts, and open-water bait schools
• Clear to moderate visibility — natural patterns like Sardine and Blue Sardine shine here
• Low-light and deep conditions — glow variants (Full Glow Pink, Pink Glow Mackerel, Silver Glow Stripe) excel

Best For

• Species: Bluefin Tuna, Yellowfin Tuna, Yellowtail, Amberjack, Wahoo, Mahi-Mahi, Large Lingcod
• Techniques: High-pitch jigging, speed jigging, vertical jigging
• Scenarios: Long-range offshore trips, deep-water structure fishing, heavy-current conditions

Key Features

• Streaker Swim Action — erratic, darting movement that triggers reaction bites at depth
• Gorilla Through-Wire Construction — full-body wire for maximum strength on big fish
• Triple Shield Protection — multi-layer finish resists corrosion and chipping
• BKK 5X Assist 5/0 Hooks — premium, heavy-duty hooks fitted from the factory
• Fast-Sink Design — long, slender profile with slightly flat back for quick descent
• 9 Color Options — natural baitfish patterns and glow variants for all conditions and depths

Models & Specs

Tackle Express Tips

• Stay vertical: At 320g, the Streaker is designed to cut through current — but if you're getting too much angle on your line, move to a heavier rod or adjust your drift position. A vertical presentation is always more effective than a diagonal one.
• Go glow in the deep: Below 200 ft, Full Glow Pink, Pink Glow Mackerel, and Silver Glow Stripe are standout producers. Charge them with a UV light between drops for maximum effect.
• Let the drop do the work: On the freefall, keep slight tension on the line so you can feel the hit — big fish often eat the Streaker on the way down before you even start your retrieve.

FAQ

What's the difference between the 200g and 320g Streaker?
The 320g is built for deeper water, stronger current, and larger fish. If you're fishing under 150 ft in moderate current, the 200g is usually sufficient. Step up to the 320g when depth, current, or target species demand more weight and heavier hooks.

What line and leader should I use with the Streaker 320g?
Most anglers run 65–100 lb braid with an 80–130 lb fluorocarbon leader. Heavier leader is recommended when targeting toothy species like wahoo or when fishing around structure where abrasion is a concern.

Which color should I start with?
Sardine and Blue Sardine are great all-around starting points in clear water. In deeper or darker conditions, go with Full Glow Pink, Pink Glow Mackerel, or Silver Glow Stripe. Crimson Tide and Black Pink Mackerel are solid choices when fish are keyed on darker baitfish.

The Nomad Buffalo Jig is a Slow Pitch Jig, or often called a flatfall jig. It is centre balanced and will fall with a fluttering action enticing the fish to strike as the lure falls. It is ideal for sinking through schools of Tuna hanging deep, or using for reef species hanging down deep when worked with long slow flicks of the rod.

The Buffalo comes rigged with a super strong and super sharp BKK assist hook rigged on the tail of the jig to assist with the slower fall rate. One of the most effective jig styles imaginable.

Comes with a single assist hook not shown.

Built to Drop Fast and Hit Hard

The Nomad Tackle Streaker Jig 200g is engineered for anglers who fish deep and fish fast. With a long, slender profile and a slightly flat back, it sinks like a knife and swims with an erratic, darting action that triggers reaction strikes from predators that won't commit to a slow presentation. Whether you're dropping on yellowtail, tuna, or amberjack, the Streaker gets down quickly and stays in the strike zone longer.

When Reaction Bites Are the Only Bites

Some days the fish are there but they won't eat. That's when the Streaker earns its name. The high-pitch, fast-sink design creates an unpredictable flutter on the drop and a tight, aggressive swim on the retrieve — exactly the kind of erratic movement that triggers instinct-driven strikes from pressured or finicky fish. Medium to fast retrieves work best, and the long slender body gives it a baitfish silhouette that matches sardines, mackerel, and other common forage.

What Slow Jigs Can't Do

Slow pitch jigs shine in certain conditions, but when fish are holding deep and you need to cover water fast, a slow jig costs you time and bites. The Streaker's fast-sink design cuts through current, reaches depth quickly, and gets back in the water faster between drops — a real advantage when the bite window is short or the school is moving.

Built to Last in Saltwater

Nomad's Triple Shield Protection finish resists corrosion and chipping through repeated drops and hard strikes. Gorilla Through-Wire construction means even the biggest fish can't pull the hook hardware free from the body. Fitted with BKK 5X Assist 4/0 hooks — one of the most trusted hook brands in the game — right out of the box.

The Right Pick If...

• You're fishing deep water (100–400+ ft) for tuna, yellowtail, or amberjack
• You want a fast-sinking jig that covers the water column quickly
• The bite is reaction-based and slow presentations aren't producing
• You need a jig that matches sardine or mackerel profiles
• You're running high-pitch or speed jigging techniques

Best Fishing Techniques

• High-Pitch Jigging: Fast, sharp upward rod strokes with a quick drop — the Streaker's erratic flutter on the fall is a key trigger
• Speed Jigging: Continuous medium-to-fast retrieve with the rod tip low — keeps the jig swimming tight and aggressive
• Vertical Jigging: Drop to depth, engage, and work back up through the water column with varied cadence

Best Conditions

• Deep water: 100–400+ ft
• Strong current where fast-sinking profiles outperform slow jigs
• Offshore structure, kelp edges, and open-water bait schools
• Clear to moderate visibility — natural color patterns like Sardine and Blue Sardine shine here
• Low-light and deep conditions — glow variants (Full Glow Pink, Pink Glow Mackerel) excel

Best For

• Species: Yellowtail, Bluefin Tuna, Yellowfin Tuna, Amberjack, Wahoo, Mahi-Mahi, Lingcod
• Techniques: High-pitch jigging, speed jigging, vertical jigging
• Scenarios: Offshore trips, long-range fishing, deep-water structure fishing

Key Features

• Streaker Swim Action — erratic, darting movement that triggers reaction bites
• Gorilla Through-Wire Construction — full-body wire for maximum strength on big fish
• Triple Shield Protection — multi-layer finish resists corrosion and chipping
• BKK 5X Assist 4/0 Hooks — premium hooks fitted from the factory
• Fast-Sink Design — long, slender profile with slightly flat back for quick descent
• 9 Color Options — natural baitfish patterns and glow variants for all conditions

Tackle Express Tips

• Match the drop speed to the bite: On the drop, let the Streaker freefall on a semi-slack line — the flutter on the way down often gets hit before you even start your retrieve.
• Go glow in the deep: Below 200 ft or in low-light conditions, Full Glow Pink and Pink Glow Mackerel are standout producers. Charge them with a UV light between drops for maximum effect.
• Vary your cadence: If a steady speed retrieve isn't producing, try 3–4 fast cranks followed by a brief pause — the sudden stop often triggers a strike from fish that are following.

FAQ

What's the difference between the Streaker and a slow pitch jig?
The Streaker is a high-pitch, fast-sinking jig designed for speed and reaction bites. Slow pitch jigs use a wider, fluttering fall to entice fish on the drop. The Streaker excels when fish are aggressive or holding deep and you need to cover water quickly.

What line and leader should I use with the Streaker 200g?
Most anglers run 50–80 lb braid with a 60–100 lb fluorocarbon leader. Heavier leader is recommended when targeting toothy species like wahoo or when fishing around structure.

Which color should I start with?
Sardine and Blue Sardine are great all-around starting points in clear water. In deeper or darker conditions, go with Full Glow Pink or Pink Glow Mackerel. Crimson Tide and Black Pink Mackerel are solid choices when fish are keyed on darker baitfish.

The Nomad Design Buffalo Jig is a slow pitch, center-balanced jig, often referred to as a flatfall jig, engineered to mimic a wounded baitfish with its enticing fluttering action on the drop. Crafted with advanced materials for durability and tournament-grade performance, this jig is ideal for targeting deep-water predators like tuna, snapper, amberjack, grouper, and other reef species. Its unique design flutters at the start of the sink but descends quickly to reach deeper zones, making it highly effective for slow pitch jigging with long, slow rod lifts followed by a controlled drop.

The Buffalo Jig features a super-strong, super-sharp 5X BKK assist hook rigged on the tail to optimize hook-up rates during the slower fall. Available in vibrant colors with glow paint options (e.g., Full Glow Pink, Silver Glow Stripe), the jig maximizes attraction with a sideways kick and flash, expanding the strike zone for deep-sea species. Tested under extreme conditions by Nomad Design’s experienced team, the Buffalo Jig is a versatile, high-performance lure ready to tackle the toughest gamefish right out of the package.
