Hideup Coike

The Hideup Coike Fish Gill brings a school-inspired bluegill profile to your bass tackle box. Developed from a long-standing concept made possible by advances in manufacturing, the L model uses outward-spreading parts to suggest a school of juvenile bluegill around a central food target. The center ball's textured finish adds a realistic surface detail, making the focal point look like a natural prey item within the group.

Positioned between the Coike Full Cast and Coike 17mm in relative size, the Gill L fills the gap between those two profiles. This listing offers M and L selections with model-specific color lineups and one bait per package.

A School-Inspired Alternative to Another Worm

A conventional worm or single baitfish imitation presents one familiar shape. The Coike Fish Gill offers a different visual target: a central food item surrounded by a gathering of small fish. Reach for it when you want to explore a gill-oriented presentation around bass holding near small forage, rather than simply repeat the same profile.

The Right Pick If...

You want a deliberate, forage-focused approach instead of a fast-moving search bait. Start in clear to lightly stained water where you can observe the presentation and fish can inspect its shape. Its distinctive profile is the reason to choose it; match your rig to depth and cover rather than treating it as a one-setup solution.

What Sets the Gill Apart

• School-inspired L profile: Outward-spreading parts suggest a group of juvenile bluegill around a central prey item.
• Textured L center: A fine surface finish adds detail to the central ball.
• Intermediate L profile: Positioned between Coike 17mm and Coike Full Cast in relative size.
• M and L options: Different color lineups let you choose your model and presentation.
• Pack quantity: One bait per package.

Compare Your Model Options

Green Pumpkin, Scuppernong, Ebi Dappi and Tamaranbai Dark Shrimp are listed in both models. Other colors vary by model; use the size and color selector to choose your combination.

Give the Profile Time to Show

As a starting experiment, test short, controlled movements followed by pauses. Watch the rig beside the bank or boat first and check that the parts remain free to move. For a drop-shot trial, select a hook with adequate clearance and test the assembled rig before making a full cast. These are starting approaches to explore, not a fixed hook-size or rigging prescription.

Best for: Freshwater bass anglers exploring bluegill-oriented presentations, slow swim-and-pause retrieves, and carefully fitted finesse-rig experiments near small-forage activity.

Pick a Color With a Purpose

Green Pumpkin is a practical natural-color starting point. Try a darker Scuppernong shade when you want stronger contrast, or compare the L model's Clear Wakasagi and Squash Lemon options when a translucent or brighter look suits your approach. Change one variable at a time so you can judge the fish's response.

Tackle Express Tips

• Choose the size first. Not every color is offered in both M and L.
• Check hook clearance and movement beside you before casting; a freely moving profile matters more than an aggressive retrieve.
• Compare shorter movements and longer pauses before switching colors.

Questions Before Your First Cast

How many baits come in a package?
Both the M and L models contain one bait per package.

Are all colors offered in both models?
No. This listing has nine M combinations and eight L combinations. Green Pumpkin, Scuppernong, Ebi Dappi and Tamaranbai Dark Shrimp appear in both.

What makes the L model distinctive?
Its outward-spreading parts suggest small bluegill around a central food target, with fine texturing on the center ball.

Where does the L model fit in the Coike lineup?
Hideup positions it between the Coike 17mm and Coike Full Cast in relative size.

Explore Another Coike Profile

Compare the Hideup Coike Full Cast Urchin Bait for a tendril-based profile, or the Hideup Coike Fish Elastomer Urchin Bait for another fish-shaped Coike option. Choose the Gill model and color that fit your next bass-fishing experiment at Tackle Express.

The Hideup Coike Fish Elastomer turns a familiar urchin-style profile into a small school of baitfish. Each appendage is shaped like a fish, with molded eye and fin details surrounding a textured center ball. As the bait moves through the water, those fish-shaped arms follow the center, creating the look of small baitfish competing for food.

Reach for it when you want a different visual presentation from a straight worm or a single baitfish imitation. Available in M and L, the Coike Fish gives bass anglers a distinctive option for deliberate retrieves and finesse presentations around feeding areas.

A Bait Ball Instead of One More Worm

A conventional soft bait represents one piece of forage. The Coike Fish adds the appearance of several small fish around a central target, giving you a different profile to show bass that have seen the usual offerings. Its appeal is the combination of fish-shaped detail and movement, not a need to work it aggressively.

The Right Pick for a Slower Approach

Consider it for largemouth and smallmouth bass when fish are relating to small forage or when you want to experiment with a compact, unusual presentation. Start in clear to lightly stained water where bass can inspect the shape. It is a targeted presentation choice rather than a replacement for fast-moving search baits or heavy-cover lures.

What Makes the Coike Fish Different

• Fish-shaped appendages surround the center to suggest a gathering of baitfish.
• Molded eyes and fins add detail to each fish-shaped arm.
• A textured center ball adds surface detail to the central target.
• Elastomer construction distinguishes these models from conventional soft-plastic offerings.
• M and L options let you choose between the two listed sizes.

Models & Specs

Choose your size and color from the variant selector. Color options include Green Pumpkin #303, Watermelon Seed #304, Green Pumpkin Candy #302, and Black Solid #109.

Give the Small Fish Room to Move

Start with short, controlled swimming movements and pauses rather than a hard, continuous retrieve. Watch the bait beside the boat or bank to see how the appendages follow the center. Adjust your retrieve until the arms move freely instead of bunching together.

For a drop-shot experiment, choose a hook that leaves adequate clearance around the center and test the rig in the water before fishing. Gamakatsu G Finesse Tournament Drop Shot Hooks offer a finesse hook option; select the size to suit the bait and your rig. Pair the setup with VMC Tungsten Cylinder Drop Shot Weights, choosing enough weight to maintain control at your fishing depth.

Pick a Color With a Purpose

Green Pumpkin and Watermelon Seed are useful starting points for a subdued look. Try Green Pumpkin Candy when you want added fleck, or Black Solid when you want a darker silhouette. Let water clarity, available light, and the fish's response guide the final choice.

Tackle Express Tips

• Test the rig next to you first. Check hook clearance and make sure the fish-shaped appendages can move without catching on the hook or line.
• Change cadence before changing colors. Compare a short swim and pause with small shakes in place.
• Keep the bait in its original packaging and separate from other soft baits unless material compatibility is confirmed.

Questions Before Your First Cast

Is the Coike Fish the same as the Coike Full Cast?
No. The Coike Fish has individual fish-shaped appendages with molded eye and fin details around a textured center. This listing covers the M and L elastomer models.

Which bass presentations should I try first?
Start with controlled swimming movements and pauses to explore its bait-ball action. A carefully fitted drop-shot rig is another presentation to experiment with after checking hook clearance and movement in the water.

Are separate eyes included?
Hideup states that optional eyes are not included. The fish-shaped appendages already have molded eye details.

Choose your Coike Fish size and color at Tackle Express, then build a setup that lets its distinctive profile do the work.

The Hideup Coike Full Cast Urchin Bait gives bass anglers a compact, high-floating elastomer presentation with movement in every direction. Its 23 mm spherical body is surrounded by flexible tendrils that respond to small rod movements, current, and pauses, making it a smart choice when pressured fish ignore ordinary soft plastics.

Small Profile, Constant Movement

The round core and multi-directional tendrils create a lively silhouette without requiring an aggressive retrieve. Fish it slowly around cover, suspend it above bottom on a drop shot, or let its buoyancy work during long pauses. The durable elastomer construction helps the bait retain its shape through repeated casts.

Best For

• Finesse presentations for pressured largemouth and smallmouth bass
• Drop-shot, nail-rig, Carolina-rig, jighead, and weightless setups
• Clear water, high fishing pressure, and slow-bite conditions
• Targeting isolated cover, shade lines, grass edges, and suspended fish

The Right Pick If...

Choose the Coike Full Cast when you want a compact bait that stays active at slow speeds. It is especially useful when a standard worm or creature bait looks too familiar, or when fish need extra time to inspect the presentation before committing.

Key Features

• 23 mm spherical core: A compact profile suited to finesse fishing.
• Flexible tendrils: Create movement from subtle rod input and water motion.
• High-floating elastomer: Helps the bait hold an elevated, natural posture.
• Durable construction: Built to maintain its shape through repeated use.
• Multiple rigging options: Adapts to drop-shot, nail-rig, Carolina-rig, jighead, and weightless presentations.

Models & Specs

Available Colors

Tamaranbai Blue #141, Watermelon Seed, Green Pumpkin, Green Pumpkin Candy #302, Chartreuse Green Gold #111, Merthiolate #306, and Green Pumpkin Pepper/Blue #127.

How to Fish It

Start with a drop-shot presentation and use short shakes followed by long pauses. For a nail rig, add only enough weight to reach the target depth while preserving the bait’s subtle action. A weightless setup can be worked slowly near the surface or around shallow cover. Because elastomer can react with conventional soft-plastic materials, store this bait in its original packaging and keep it separate from standard plastics.

Tackle Express Tips

• Let the bait pause. The tendrils continue to move even when the rig is nearly still.
• Use natural shades in clear water and brighter colors when visibility drops.
• Check the bait’s position after each cast so the tendrils remain free to move.

FAQ

What species is the Coike Full Cast designed for?
It is primarily suited to finesse presentations for freshwater bass, including largemouth and smallmouth but works great on bottom fish in the saltwater.

Can I fish it on a drop shot?
Yes. Its compact body, flexible tendrils, and buoyant material make it well suited to a drop-shot rig and extended pauses.

How should I store it?
Keep it in its original package and separate from conventional soft plastics to help protect the elastomer material.

Build a Finesse Setup

Pair it with a light drop-shot hook or compact nail weight, then match your line and weight to depth, cover, and water clarity. The goal is a controlled presentation that gives the bait time to work in place.

Add the Hideup Coike Full Cast Urchin Bait to your finesse box for a different look when bass stop responding to ordinary soft plastics.
