Owner Ringed Flyliner Hooks are ideal for live bait due to the close bend, looped eye, and no offset. This tighter profile lies flatter with the bait, thus minimizing the risk of the gamefish being able to pull the hook away.

The ring on the eye enhances freedom of movement for the bait, while giving a pivoting point when the hook is taken by the gamefish, thus minimizing the risk of being pulled away. The wire is not excessively thick, limiting any likelihood of damage to the bait, but is still robust enough to be depended on.

The Owner Ringed Mutu Circle Hook is the leader in circle hooks. As with any circle hook, never set the hook. If you get bit, point the rod tip at the fish and wind until you feel the rod load up. Then raise the rod tip slowly and hang on!

The welded ring on these hooks gives you the added security you need when fighting big fish. Owner Aki Twist Bait Hooks are the standard when it comes to fishing squid in Southern California.  The long shank, offset point, and heavy gauge wire make this a big game hook that stands up to tough conditions.  For a full size squid not cut, we follow Brandon Haywards recommendation of a 7/0.  

Thread the hook through the squid 2-3 times and put it on a dropper loop or glow slider.  We like to put the hook 3 feet from the weight on the dropper loop.   For the glow sinker, let it slide all the way down to the hook.  

We often use 1/4oz, 3/8oz, and 1/2oz sliders for white seabass and yellowtail.  Try using the Billfishes Combi swivel for added security and bait action.  This unique swivel allows the bait to move 360 degrees around your main line.

Lead Torpedo Weights are used on almost any saltwater fishing trip in Southern California.  These are the staple weight used to get your bait to the bottom for fish like halibut, rock fish, white sea bass, calico bass, white fish, and many other species. The two brass ends allow for multiple rigging styles.

Lead Egg Sinkers can be used in so many ways while fishing it's hard to say how the best way to use them is.  For live bait fishing offshore in Southern California, we use them most often to get our bait deeper in the column.  Often times the bird will eat your bait and just a little weight can get it out of reach of the birds and in the mouth of the fish.  

In freshwater, they are often used for fishing the Carolina Rig for many different species.  These lead weights are made by Leadmasters and are premium quality.  Get some as an add on to your order like most of our customers do.  We also have torpedo weights if you're looking for weights over 1oz.
