Berkley PowerBait Atomic Teasers are pre-rigged mini jigs for trout, crappie, and other panfish. The teaser combines a tentacled tube profile with a worm-like tail for subtle movement on a slow retrieve or beneath a float.

These are presentation guidelines, not fixed depth ratings. Line diameter, retrieve speed, and current affect how the jig fishes. Compare the selected weight and color before adding to cart. A light trout rod and small spinning reel help present these lightweight jigs.

3 Tackle Express Tips

1. Start with the shop's light-line approach. Our existing setup recommendation is 2–4 lb line, tied directly to the jig or used as a leader. Increase line strength when cover or larger fish require it; check frequently for abrasion.
2. Use a float to control depth. Start with roughly 2–3 feet between float and jig where the water depth allows, then adjust to keep the bait near the fish and above bottom obstructions. Use a float that can support the selected jig weight.
3. Slow the retrieve before adding more action. Let the jig sink briefly, then retrieve slowly with occasional pauses. Watch the line or float for changes and lift smoothly into the fish rather than using an abrupt, heavy hookset on light line.

Frequently asked questions

Are Atomic Teasers pre-rigged?

Yes. Berkley describes Atomic Teasers as pre-rigged and ready to fish. You still need your rod, reel, line, and a float if using a float presentation.

Do all options have a worm-like tail?

No. This product listing includes options marked “no tail.” Read the complete option name to choose the intended profile.

Which weight should I choose?

Try 1/32 oz when a light presentation is manageable. Step up to 1/16 oz if you need additional casting weight or better control. Neither weight has one universal fishing depth.

Can I fish these under a bobber?

Yes. Set the float-to-jig distance for the water depth and where fish are holding. Small movements and pauses can help keep the presentation in one area.
