Lead Masters halibut trap rig is idea for short biting halibut.  They love to chew on the back end of the bait and this little rig gets 'em before they know it.  Simply hook the single hook into the nose of the bait and the treble in the tail and hang on.  The rig is adjustable so you can move the nose hook to accommodate the size of the bait.

Sea Striker Fast Snaps are crazy strong because they have very heavy wire and the way they are designed makes them stay strong.  Most snaps and split rings have to be opened and closed to get it on the lure or bait, but Sea Striker Snaps don't have to be opened in the same way.  Simply slide the lure onto the out-turned end of the wire and follow it around till it is attached.  Your knot won't end up on anything sharp like a split ring would.  We find this is a far better option than a split ring for larger fish.  We only wish they made it in a small size.
