The Megabass Orochi Rods are all technique specific made with the same high quality materials and technology like their new kabt X47 ASL Metal Fibers:
- kabt™ (p. ‘kabutoh’): The astonishing tensile strength and tenacious resilience of the kabt‘s shape-memory metal microfibers are woven into a layered, multi-axis arrangement that reinforces the butt-section of each blank, delivering a superior power-to-weight ratio and more decisive lifting-power and control.
- Multi-tonnage construction: Each blank utilizes low-resin carbon of varying tonnage. By matching the desired bend-characteristics of each point to the ideal tonnage, each blank is able to realize ever-greater potential—which translates into silky-smooth load transfer across all taper-types for intuitive cast and feel.
- Spiral Architect Reel Seat: A Megabass-original designed for low-profile ergonomics, maximum blank exposure, structural integrity, and efficient grip-shifts when moving from casting to palming.
- Micro-Pitch Taping: Un-sanded finishing tape features higher wrapping-density for increased durability and blank crispness.
- Fuji Stainless SiC Guides
F4-68XXS RONIN - Developed for jerkbaits like the X-80 Trick Darter and Vision Oneten series, the OROCHI XX RONIN preserves the bend characteristics and ergonomic advantages of the original, while improving the recovery rate of the blank. Understanding the importance of managing slack line throughout the jerkbait’s cadence, the RONIN’s blank exhibits greater crispness, returning to center-rest with fewer oscillations than its predecessor. This also allows for more precise transmission of rod work, connecting angler to the dynamic and nuanced action of Megabass jerkbaits more fully.
The ergonomics of a compact handle and tapered cork fore grip combine to deliver a superior spinning setup for jerkbaits, allowing for less wrist torque when working baits with sharp, sideways or downward snaps of the rod. In addition, the RONIN is an excellent choice for pinpoint-casting of weighted and weightless worms, and its 6’8” length is ideal for dock-skipping soft plastics.
F4.5-74XXS ENFORCER - Dedicated for deep-water applications, such as tubes and bottom swimbaits like the Dark Sleeper, the OROCHI XX ENFORCER was developed with Northern waters in mind. With a smooth, parabolic bend crafted to both absorb aggressive head-shakes and control long fights, the ENFORCER allows for light-line applications that may otherwise seem below its weight class. At 7’4” with an extended rear grip, the ENFORCER is built for long two-handed casts, and can be tucked comfortably under the arm for long dragging techniques and increased leverage against monster smallmouth. Additionally, the ENFORCER excels with the salt-rich no-sinker rigs often employed in the South. The added length of the rod allows for long casts and sweeping hooksets to quickly take up slack line, while the kabt™-powered backbone controls the fight in-and-around brush piles and submerged timber.
Rebuilt as a one-piece model to tackle the depths with greater precision and control, the OROCHI XX LAUNCHER F6-711XXG steps up a weight class from F5 to F6, displaying surprising sensitivity along with its newfound power. Retooled taper is designed with a tip section that “gives” like traditional glass, loads effortlessly into the formidable mid-section to power sweeping-hooksets, then anchors the fight in the kabt reinforced butt section to overcome hard-fighting keepers.
kabt metal microfiber material, graphite, glass, and Micro Pitch Taping technologies combine to produce not only increased power, but also substantial increases to sensitivity. This allows heightened detection of bottom-composition changes, grass contact, bites and clearer feedback throughout the retrieve.
By modifying taper and material composition, LAUNCHER blends the properties of glass more smoothly with its graphite construction, allowing for a forgiving tip section that does not get in the way of load transition when casting heavier plugs. This allows LAUNCHER to more fully leverage the potential of its construction, casting a wider range of plugs with tremendous power and accuracy.

All Rods are packaged with extreme care!
Being fisherman ourselves we take pride in not having rods break during shipping, to ensure they'll be enjoyed and fished. We make sure every rod is wrapped tightly with bubble wrap in the crucial areas and are suspended in a thick rod tube, to keep from being crushed or banged around.
Replacing the old FLIPPING SPECIAL, the all-new OROCHI XX AKLYS is a dedicated punching rod built to attack the thickest vegetation. Dialing the taper back to a medium-fast action, the top-third of the blank loads swiftly to launch punch rigs, then distributes force throughout the blank for powerful hooksets and sustained leverage to keep fish pinned to the underside of thick mats.
Carefully selected rear-grip length gives leverage, while the finely-tuned counterweight centers the rod’s overall balance-point at the reel to allow for smooth, pendulum-like rod work with minimal fatigue. Double-footed and double-wrapped SiC guides add durability, while increased ring diameter allows for smoother travel with heavy line and braid + heavy leader combinations.
Stronger, kabt™ reinforced blank and medium-fast taper are also better-suited to traditional flipping applications, calling upon more of the powerful blank to bury thick-gauge hooks and haul keepers from gnarly cover.
