The hook used is as important as any other part of the equation. Gamakatsu Nautilus Circle Hooks are among the best due to their superior diameter to strength ratio. These hooks are very sharp with a chemically sharpened point.
The barb is big enough to keep fish hooked and the diameter small enough to pierce the fishes mouth easily. If you're looking for the best of both worlds, try the Gamakatsu Nautilus Circle Hooks.
The hook used is as important as any other part of the equation. Gamakatsu Nautilus Ringed Circle Hooks are among the best due to their superior diameter to strength ratio. The ring allows the bait to swim easier and adds a pivot point when in the fishes mouth which reduces leverage which can pull the hook.

Gamakatsu Offset Shank Worm EWG Hooks are the standard for worms and creature baits. We love the bend on these hooks and the super sharp point.
These fishing hooks work best for thick bodied worms, craw, and creature type baits because of the extra wide gap. An extra wide gap is defined by the distance from the point of the hook to the bottom of the curve of the shank. EWG hooks are good for plastic baits that have a bigger body to them. If the gap is too small, upon hook-set the point of the hook won't be able to come through the plastic to pierce the fishes mouth. The extra gap gives the hook room to come through the plastic which exposes the hook.
Tie one on if you haven't yet, we are confident you will be satisfied with the results.
Gamakatsu 211 short shank round jig head is excellent when you need a short shank hook. The standard round head design makes this a very versatile jig head.
It has an ultra sharp Gamakatsu jig hook and also has two keeper barb rings behind the head to hold soft plastics in place. Great for grub and finesse presentations.

Gamakatsu Split Shot, Drop Shot Hooks have the right bend to make the bait presentation at the right angle. The preferred knot is the palomar but make sure you take your tag line and run it through the eye of the hook to finish the knot.
We like this hook because it's very sharp and has the perfect angle for drop shot rigs and split shot rigs. The wire is thin so hookups are solid, allowing you to get the fish in. Even though they are thin, they are still pretty tough considering the wire size. There are 6 hooks per pack but we also have bulk packs for a better value. Click here to see the Gamakatsu Split Shot/Drop Shot Value Pack.
The Gamakatsu Round Bend Treble Bronze Hooks are very sticky hooks. They aren't the strongest hooks with only 1X strong wire, but the thin wire sticks better than a stronger hook.
If you're fish are coming off once hooked, consider going to these and see the difference. You may need to change your hook out more often because they get bent, but at least you landed the fish.
The Gamakatsu Weighted Superline Spring-Lock Hooks are awesome for swimbaits or creature baits when you don't want a bullet weight. The weighted hook changes the way the bait falls and reacts on the bottom.
The screw on the eye makes rigging it breeze and the up-turned eye on the hook allows for proper alignment. As always Gamakatsu hooks are very sharp and tournament proven. We think you find lots of applications for this hook.
The Gamakatsu Weighted Superline Extra Wide Gap (EWG) Hooks are engineered for anglers targeting big bass and fishing in heavy cover with braided lines. Featuring a high-carbon, heavy-wire construction, these hooks are exceptionally strong yet flexible, designed to withstand the demands of no-stretch braided lines without straightening.
The extra-wide gap accommodates larger soft plastics, ensuring positive hooksets even with bulky baits, while the strategically placed lead weight enhances casting distance, stabilizes bait for a natural presentation, and promotes a faster sink rate—ideal for flipping or pitching in thick tules, mats, or pads without additional sinkers.
These hooks boast Gamakatsu’s renowned surgical sharpness, achieved through a cutting-edge sharpening process that delivers a perfectly conical point for superior performance.
Gamakatsu’s most versatile hook, the Gamakatsu Octopus Hook has long been known for its durability and strength. The Octopus hook comes in a wide variety of sizes, colors and finishes, including fluorescent finishes.
Red is the first color to disappear underwater and the theory is that red hooks cannot be seen as easy by fish. They are most used by bait fishermen but these hooks can be used in many ways.

Our Gamakatsu Offset Shank Worm Hooks Round Bend are perfect for Carolina rigging and Texas rigging worms and small creature baits. We fish them anytime we are dragging the bottom with a worm from 4 inches to 7 inches. The narrow gap allows the worm to act naturally on the bottom. If you were to use an EWG hook it would cause the worm to sit sideways due to the belly of the hook not sitting flat on the bottom. As always, these babies are ultra sharp and strong.
