This Bates Goat Casting Reel is a true marvel of modern ingenuity and craftsmanship. Each reel begins as a solid block of 6061-T6 bar stock aluminum and is cut on our 9-axis CNC machine bringing each shape and specification to life with the highest level of precision technology can achieve.   On Bates Reels there is only one plastic part on the outside of the reel and that is the casting adjustment.

Frames are then assembled and anodized with a clear coat finish so you can see everything the G.O.A.T. is and be sure of everything it isn’t. No plastic frames, no poured pieces, no kitschy marketing ploys or the hook of ambiguous technological advancements.    Each reel comes standard with a 120mm milled titanium handle these are normally a high dollar upgrade but is standard on the G.O.A.T.  

Here at Tackle Express we wanted to see the reel before we put it in our shop.  After receiving the sample, there was no doubt that we had to have it.  It's very smooth, has a great free spool, is rigid and casts very well, and has a ton of drag.  If you're looking for the ultimate casting reel, the Bates Goat is it.  Give it a try, you won't be disappointed.

Nice reel little pricey

Very aesthetically pleasing reel
The handle is crazy large.
Looks like it will get boat rash fairly easily
Seems like it should be in the $225-250 price range
