The most capable reel in the Tanacom lineup, the Daiwa Tanacom 800 is a 12-volt power assist conventional reel engineered for kite fishing, deep drop, and offshore big game applications where line capacity, drag power, and retrieval speed are non-negotiable. The defining engineering advancement is the in-spool motor placement — the motor and new gearing system are housed inside the spool itself rather than on the front of the reel, generating significantly more power, speed, and efficiency from the same dependable motor platform. Combined with a rigid frame and side plates and repositioned bearings with reduced water exposure, the Tanacom 800 delivers 30% faster retrieval and 20% more power than the Tanacom 750.

The oversized line guide aperture is large enough to pass swivels and large knots through — a critical feature for kite fishing rigs that allows anglers to crank the rig directly to the rod tip without stopping to clear the guide. Saltwater-sealed electronics with an LED dot screen and selectable language prompts guide anglers through power assist settings, automatic stop, and jigging features. Anglers can fight fish manually with the Power Lever and aluminum round knob, or engage the 12-volt variable-speed power assist for heavy hauling.
