We like to use the Owner Sled Head when there is a lot of vegetation in the water. These allow the proper rigging for plastic baits when you need a weedless presentation in kelp, eel grass, hydrilla, and many more things that like to snag our hooks.

For calico bass and white sea bass in Mexico and Southern California, we like to put 7" soft jerkbaits on them and fish them in the kelp. They also work great for halibut when there is too much crap in the water. If the water is fairly clean, we like to fish an exposed jig head made by Warbaits but any stout hook jig head will work.
