Inshore anglers need no longer worry about baitcaster durability. The Shimano Tranx 200 Baitcast Reel represents the culmination of more than 10 years' study on the effects and prevention of corrosion. With advanced CoreProtect construction, the Tranx 200's body is impervious to saltwater, while additional technologies β including S-ARB Shielded Anti-Rust bearings and the rubber-gasketed Waterproof Drag system β further protect key internals from environmental degradation.
The Tranx 200 also boasts a number of high-performance features that bode well for anglers targeting inshore beasts. The all-metal HGN Hagane Body design translates to ultimate strength and rigidity, for maximum cranking power under heavy load; the S3D Shimano Stable Spool Design incorporates a thin, solid aluminum wall for smooth running on both the cast and retrieve.

Shimano SLX DC Casting Reels
The Shimano SLX DC Casting Reels are a game-changing addition to Shimano's mid-range baitcasting lineup, introduced in 2019 and still a top seller in 2025 for their accessible DC (Digital Control) braking technology.
Built on the compact, rigid SLX platform, these low-profile reels deliver flagship-level casting performance without the premium price, making them ideal for bass, inshore, and versatile freshwater/saltwater applications. The I-DC4 braking system uses a microcomputer to monitor spool speed 1,000 times per second, applying precise brakes to prevent backlashes and maximize distanceβadjustable via four external modes for braid, fluoro, mono, or custom settings.
Encased in a durable HAGANE Body for flex-free cranking power, they're powered by reliable brass gearing and feature Super Free Spool for frictionless casts.
Key Features:
- I-DC4 Digital Braking: Intelligent spool control for backlash-free casting in any condition; reduces thumb pressure for beginners and pros alike.
- HAGANE Body & Gearing: Rigid aluminum frame and brass main gear ensure smooth, long-lasting performance under heavy loads.
- S3D Spool: Tapered design minimizes vibration for smoother line flow and longer casts.
- Compact Design: 150-size capacity in a palmable body; available in right- and left-hand retrieve.
- Ergonomics: Long handle with contoured knobs for comfortable retrieves; lightweight (7.6β7.8 oz) for all-day use.

The Shimano Tranx 400A fishing reel features some of the most powerful and smooth performance ever made! Β It is available with a dual paddle handle in the 400A and a single power handle in the 400AHG. Β This reel will handle most anything that swims in freshwater and saltwater with it's massive cranking power and smooth effortless retrieve. Β The Tranx is made for catching big fish due to it's reinforced Hagane body, X-Ship, and HEG (High Efficiency Gearing.) Β Shimano's Core Protect technology provides long-lasting durability even in the harshest environments. Β
We like the sleek styling, large handle, and the power of X-Ship in the Tranx 400A. Β The massive gear and HEG gearing gives this a strong and powerful stance ready to throw swimbaits or catch yellowtail. Β The low profile also fits well in hand and long distance casting is a breeze. Β The Tranx 400A is in a league of it's own and we are sure you will like it as much as we do.

The Shimano Tranx 500Β Baitcast Reel is in it's own class of fishing reel. Β This bad to bone reel has 25 pounds of drag, a super strong levelwind, a comfortable power handle, X-Ship for more torque, and the ability to cast long distances. Β This compact powerhouse has two models, the (HG) or high gear which boasts 43 inches per crank at a 6.6:1 ratio. Β The (PG) Power Gear is built for increased power with 30 inches per crank at 4.6:1 ratio. Β Depending on whatΒ you are fishing for will determine which reel is best for you. Β
If you're fishing deep on structure where they can break you off, you want the PG.Β The lower gear ratio will give you more torque and power which will allow you to get the fish in with less effort.Β Throwing lures like irons, Waxwings, or Rapala X-Raps, you want the HG.Β The higher gear ratio will allow you to gain line faster, but you will loose power.Β We like the HG for fishing lures so the lure can be fished at the right speed without over exerting yourself by turning the handle faster.Β Both of the gear ratios are powerful but having options allows you to choose the reel that works best for your conditions.Β Whatever you're fishing for, this bulldozer of a reel will get the job done. Β
For the line to use, we like PowerPro Maxcuatro for it's strength and very thin diameter.Β It will allow you to get 25% more line on the reel allowing you to catch fish up to 100lbs!Β That is an amazing statement for a star drag level wind reel and this one of a kind fishing reel will do it without fail.Β Β
