The Shimano Tranx 400A fishing reel features some of the most powerful and smooth performance ever made!  It is available with a dual paddle handle in the 400A and a single power handle in the 400AHG.  This reel will handle most anything that swims in freshwater and saltwater with it's massive cranking power and smooth effortless retrieve.  The Tranx is made for catching big fish due to it's reinforced Hagane body, X-Ship, and HEG (High Efficiency Gearing.)  Shimano's Core Protect technology provides long-lasting durability even in the harshest environments.

The Shimano Tranx 500 Baitcast Reel is in it's own class of fishing reel.  This bad to bone reel has 25 pounds of drag, a super strong levelwind, a comfortable power handle, X-Ship for more torque, and the ability to cast long distances.  This compact powerhouse has two models, the (HG) or high gear which boasts 43 inches per crank at a 6.6:1 ratio.  The (PG) Power Gear is built for increased power with 30 inches per crank at 4.6:1 ratio.  Depending on what you are fishing for will determine which reel is best for you.  

If you're fishing deep on structure where they can break you off, you want the PG.  The lower gear ratio will give you more torque and power which will allow you to get the fish in with less effort.  Throwing lures like irons, Waxwings, or Rapala X-Raps, you want the HG.  The higher gear ratio will allow you to gain line faster, but you will loose power.  We like the HG for fishing lures so the lure can be fished at the right speed without over exerting yourself by turning the handle faster.  Both of the gear ratios are powerful but having options allows you to choose the reel that works best for your conditions.  Whatever you're fishing for, this bulldozer of a reel will get the job done.  

For the line to use, we like PowerPro Maxcuatro for it's strength and very thin diameter.  It will allow you to get 25% more line on the reel allowing you to catch fish up to 100lbs!  That is an amazing statement for a star drag level wind reel and this one of a kind fishing reel will do it without fail.
