Built specifically for saltwater inshore and coastal applications, the Daiwa Coastal SV TW 80 combines the casting versatility of the SV TW (Stress-free Versatile T-Wing System) spool with the full Hyper Drive Design platform for a low-profile baitcaster that handles the widest possible range of lure weights with minimal backlash and maximum casting distance. The SV TW spool's shallow, wide design reduces spool weight and rotational inertia for effortless casting of light to medium lures — the T-Wing System line guide further reduces line friction on the cast for longer, more accurate presentations. At just 6.5 oz, it is one of the lightest saltwater-capable low-profile baitcasters in the Daiwa lineup.

The Hyper Drive Design platform integrates four key technologies — HyperDrive Digigear, Hyper Double Support, Hyper Armed Housing, and Hyper Tough Clutch — for a gear system that is smoother, more powerful, and more durable than conventional baitcasting reel designs. The UTD (Ultimate Tournament Drag) system uses impregnated drag discs that are approximately 30 times more durable than conventional discs, delivering more effective drag power with significantly reduced start-up inertia. Available in right and left hand at $319.99.

Key Features

• SV TW (Stress-free Versatile T-Wing System) Spool — Shallow, wide spool reduces rotational inertia for effortless casting of light to medium lures with minimal backlash; T-Wing System line guide reduces line friction on the cast for longer, more accurate presentations across a wide range of lure weights.
• HyperDrive Digigear — Redesigned gear tooth profile transfers power more efficiently for a smoother, more powerful retrieve with reduced gear noise compared to conventional gear designs.
• Hyper Double Support — Two-bearing support system for the pinion gear eliminates flex under load for an ultra-smooth retrieve and precise gear rotation at all retrieve speeds.
• Hyper Armed Housing — Aluminum frame and side plate provide maximum rigidity for precise internal component alignment and long-term durability in saltwater environments.
• Hyper Tough Clutch — Redesigned and reinforced clutch mechanism increases durability and engagement reliability for consistent performance over extended use.
• UTD (Ultimate Tournament Drag) — Impregnated drag discs approximately 30 times more durable than conventional discs; delivers more effective drag power with significantly reduced start-up inertia for smooth, consistent drag from the first moment of hookup.
• 4CRBB + 1 Bearing System — 4 corrosion-resistant ball bearings plus 1 roller bearing; CRBB placement at key saltwater exposure points for long-term durability in inshore and coastal saltwater environments.
• 6.5 oz Lightweight — One of the lightest saltwater-capable low-profile baitcasters in the Daiwa lineup; reduces fatigue during extended casting sessions.

Best For

• Calico Bass & Inshore Saltwater — SV TW spool handles the wide range of lure weights used for calico bass — from light swimbaits to heavier jigs — with minimal backlash adjustment; 4CRBB corrosion-resistant bearings for saltwater durability.
• Light to Medium Lure Casting — SV TW spool's reduced rotational inertia makes it exceptionally forgiving with lighter lures that would cause backlash on conventional baitcasting spools.
• All-Day Casting Sessions — 6.5 oz lightweight and SV TW spool's effortless casting reduce fatigue during extended inshore sessions from the boat or shore.
• Left-Hand Retrieve Anglers — CLTW80HL left-hand model available for anglers who prefer left-hand retrieve on baitcasting reels.
