The Mustad Jigging Assist Rig is designed for heavy jigging. Featuring a heavy-duty wide gap Mustad hook rigged with high quality PE and Kevlar materials.  The assist hook is connected to the top end of the slim jigging lure to improve hookset, as the fish often strikes at the top end. Another benefit is less snags because of the absence of the traditional tail treble.

The assist hook is dressed in white and green tinsel to attract attention, creating a striking point. These hooks were tested over a period of 2 years by Mustad's pro staff before they were launched. The AFTCO Goldfinger Outrigger release clip should be attached directly to the outrigger halyard without the use of swivels. The adjustment-slider end of the clip needs to be "up" towards the tip of the outrigger. For fixed position bait trolling,the fishing line should be twisted 5 to 10 times before hooking loop over the clip's bail. The line may also be passed over the bail without twists to allow for adjustment of baits or lures.

Size Guide

Measure the rod's diameter at the point where you intend to mount the reel. To convert inches to mm, multiply by 25.4. If you don't have calipers, wrap a piece of string around the rod at the mount point, mark where it meets, measure the length, and divide by 3.14 to get the diameter.

The Mini Super Clamp is the first clamp of its kind designed to fit smaller reels on skinnier rods. It fits reels that do not come with stock clamps where an aftermarket attachment is a necessity to mount on a deckhand rod. It fits the Lexa 300, Tranx 300, Avet SXJ(non raptor), Trinidad 12 and Trinidad 16NA to name a few. These reels do not come with a stock clamp and have been an issue mounting on deckhand rods for years. With constant requests we took the challenge and now created a clamp for theses smaller reels. While the clamp is extremely versatile it has its limitations on the diameter rod it can be mounted on. The clamp is designed to fit rod diameters between 1 1/8″ – 7/8″ (28MM- 22MM) which is appropriate for the reel class size 10-25lb rods. Some rod examples are Seeker 196,270, Calstar 800XL, 800L Phenix M1.
