The Lucky Craft Pointer 78DD Deep Diving Jerkbait has been designed with a very low center of gravity using internal brass weights.  This causes the lure to wobble and vibrate when the retrieve is stopped.  This key feature is what causes fish to bite, most of the time at the head of the bait.  

The diving depth is 7-8 feet and will suspend at that depth.  This is perfect for suspended fish that are looking for an easy meal.  A short twitch of the rod will create a walk the dog action underwater.  This jerkbait is perfect for wearing fish that suspended and are lethargic due to cold water.

We throw it with a spinning outfit on 6-8lb fluorocarbon line.  It's best with the whole spool of fluorocarbon because it is heavier than other lines.  If you have braid and fluorocarbon, the braid will float causing the lure to not reach maximum depth.

The Fish Arrow Wheel Head Jig Head is a pretty neat little jig head.  The blade spins as you run the jig head through the water creating vibration and water movement.  We find it extremely effective with a Fish Arrow Flash J Shad Swimbait and a slow to medium wind.  Stained or dirty water is the key to really making this technique shine but we've caught lots of bass in gin clear water too.

Here at Tackle Express, we like to put a small piece of squid or some gel fish attractant on the squid.  The gel scent can be Hookup Baits Mermaid Milk, Smelly Jelly, Hot Sauce, or any kind of scent that stays on well.  We like to put it inside the squid so it releases slowly. 

Add a weight that is heavy enough to get to the depth of water you're fishing, hit the bottom and jig it up and down 3 feet at a time using the rod tip.  After a few times, send it to the bottom again since the terrain can change as the boat drifts.
