The bass are suspended at 6 feet, tight to a main lake point, and they haven't moved all morning. Standard jerkbaits can't reach them. That's exactly where the Lucky Craft Pointer 78DD was built to shine. DD stands for Deep Diver — and this 3" suspending jerkbait dives 5–7 feet, putting it right in the face of fish that are holding just out of reach of the standard Pointer 78.

Like all Pointer models, the 78DD is engineered with a specially designed brass weight system that creates an ultra-low center of gravity. The Gamakatsu Finesse Wide Gap Weedless Hook is great for many types of finesse fishing.  We here at T.E. we use them on drop shot rigs, neko rig, and wacky rigs most often.  This hook comes in a weedless and non-weedless option for different applications.  

This weedless version is great for if you have small grass or other green growth in the lake that might cause snags or foul your hook.  The nylon weedless guard simply catches on the barb of the hook which holds it in place surprisingly well.  It's firm enough that it keeps stuff off your hook but light enough to give under a hook set.

If you're using the wacky method, try using an O Ring or clear band, we have both here, to minimize damage to the worm and catch more fish on each worm.  Our go-to color is green pumpkin, and is arguable the most popular color ever made.  However, if the water is stained or muddy, using a color that has chartreuse or a lot of flake can have better results.  

The hook we use is an Owner Twistlock 5/0 and we typically use it unweighted.  If we are fishing deeper than 20ft, we will us the weighted version of this hook to help us get deeper quicker.
