The Gamakatsu Worm Hook Black is a light wire fishing hook with an O'Shaughnessy bend, designed for soft plastic baits, particularly worms, known for its sharpness and strength.
- Design: Features an O'Shaughnessy bend and a straight or offset shank, offering a larger bite area for better hook sets. The O'Shaughnessy bend is ideal for bulkier plastics and provides superior holding power. Some models include keeper barbs or a Z-Bend to secure baits and reduce pull-offs.
- Material and Finish: Made from high-carbon steel light wire with a black nickel finish for corrosion resistance and improved hook-up rates. The hooks undergo a unique tempering process for strength without brittleness and are sharpened to a conical point for exceptional sharpness.
- Applications: Ideal for Texas rigging, Carolina rigging, or weightless presentations like flukes. The wide-gap design minimizes hook tear-out and is effective for bass fishing.
- Sizes and Packs: Available in sizes like 1/0, 2/0, 3/0, 4/0, and 5/0, with pack quantities varying (e.g., 5 or 6 per pack for smaller sizes, up to 25 in bulk packs).
- User Feedback: Praised for sharpness and high hookup ratios, especially for Texas-rigged worms. Some users note hook points may bend with braid or heavy fish, preferring brands like OWNER for durability.
- Technology: Some versions feature Nano Alpha coating for 2x better hook-up performance and 4x better corrosion resistance.
Gamakatsu Heavy Cover Worm Hooks are designed to fight big fish in heavy cover. Gamakatsu worked with pros Aaron Marten and John Crews to create the perfect bait keeper that provides consistently straight rigging and superior holding power.

Available in multiple sizes to fit your bait, the Gamakatsu Heavy Cover Flipping Hooks are the real deal.

The Gamakatsu Finesse Wide Gap Weedless Hook is great for many types of finesse fishing. We here at T.E. we use them on drop shot rigs, neko rig, and wacky rigs most often. This hook comes in a weedless and non-weedless option for different applications.
This weedless version is great for if you have small grass or other green growth in the lake that might cause snags or foul your hook. The nylon weedless guard simply catches on the barb of the hook which holds it in place surprisingly well. It's firm enough that it keeps stuff off your hook but light enough to give under a hook set.
The hook is extremely sharp and has a thin wire but is strong enough to land some of the biggest fish. The angled eye gives you leverage as you set the hook and almost pivots the point upward for a better hookup ratio. If you haven't tried the Gamakatsu Finesse Wide Gap Weedless Hook give it a try, we think you'll like it.
We use Gamakatsu Finesse Wide Gap Hooks for wacky rigged worms such as Yamamoto Senkos. The short shank and wide gap is perfect when using a thick worm allowing enough of the point to protrude to get a good hook set.
We also use them for pinning on smaller live bait. The value pack is a great way to save money on your favorite hooks.

Gamakatsu’s Finesse Wide Gap Hook is the perfect hook for wacky rigging for bass. It’s also a great hook for free drifting for salmon and steelhead with small baits.
We find them great for wacky rigged Senkos or any sinking worm.

Gamakatsu Split Shot, Drop Shot Hooks have the right bend to make the bait presentation at the right angle. The preferred knot is the palomar but make sure you take your tag line and run it through the eye of the hook to finish the knot.
We like this hook because it's very sharp and has the perfect angle for drop shot rigs and split shot rigs. The wire is thin so hookups are solid, allowing you to get the fish in. Even though they are thin, they are still pretty tough considering the wire size. There are 6 hooks per pack but we also have bulk packs for a better value.
Our Gamakatsu Offset Shank Worm Hooks Round Bend are perfect for Carolina rigging and Texas rigging worms and small creature baits. We fish them anytime we are dragging the bottom with a worm from 4 inches to 7 inches.
The narrow gap allows the worm to act naturally on the bottom. If you were to use an EWG hook it would cause the worm to sit sideways due to the belly of the hook not sitting flat on the bottom. As always, these babies are ultra sharp and strong.
There is no better hook for skipping plastics under docks and cover. Gamakatsu’s Skip Gap Hooks is a multiple use hook that is perfect for a variety of soft plastic baits. Top water buzz frogs, Texas rigging, Carolina rigging, the Skip Gap can do it all!
Gamakatsu Offset Shank Worm EWG Hooks are the standard for worms and creature baits. We love the bend on these hooks and the super sharp point.
These fishing hooks work best for thick bodied worms, craw, and creature type baits because of the extra wide gap. An extra wide gap is defined by the distance from the point of the hook to the bottom of the curve of the shank. EWG hooks are good for plastic baits that have a bigger body to them. If the gap is too small, upon hook-set the point of the hook won't be able to come through the plastic to pierce the fishes mouth. The extra gap gives the hook room to come through the plastic which exposes the hook.
Tie one on if you haven't yet, we are confident you will be satisfied with the results.
If you like Gamakatsu Split Shot / Drop Shot Hooks, save some money with the Value Pack. You get the same great quality as the small pack but at a much much cheaper. As always Gamakatsu makes a super sharp premium hook.
This strong thin wire hook has great penetration and the perfect bend for drop shot and split shot worms.

Gamakatsu Superline Spring Lock Hooks. The innovative design of the Gamakatsu Superline Spring Lock Hooks enhances the effectiveness of your fishing experience. With a 28% increase in hookset, you'll be able to reel in your catch with ease.
These hooks are built with precision and durability, making them a dependable choice for any angler.
Gamakatsu has given us the Superline Extra Wide Gap Hook. This hook uses heavier gauge steel wire that will not straighten out under load but with enough flex that it is not brittle and will not break when stressed. Made for big baits and applications such as flipping where hard, quick hooksets are common, so this hook will perform perfectly for you.
In addition, you have the Gamakatsu signature ultra-sharp point that will penetrate and hold so you will hook more fish and lose less.
When only a high carbon, heavy wire, surgically sharp hook will do, your choice should be the Gamakatsu EWG Monster Worm Hook. “Hard core” doesn’t even begin to describe the Monster. We now have the perfect hook that works with a giant Gitzit, Double Wide Beaver, or oversized Slug-O?
The Monster has you covered weather you're headed to El Salto, Clear Lake, or the California Delta for double digit behemoths? Gamakatsu Monster is the choice when you are taking no prisoners. Heavy line, heavy rods, big baits, and big fish require just the right tackle starting with Gamakatsu’s EWG Monster!
The Gamakatsu Weighted Superline Spring-Lock Hooks are awesome for swimbaits or creature baits when you don't want a bullet weight. The weighted hook changes the way the bait falls and reacts on the bottom.
The screw on the eye makes rigging it breeze and the up-turned eye on the hook allows for proper alignment. As always Gamakatsu hooks are very sharp and tournament proven. We think you find lots of applications for this hook.
The Gamakatsu Weighted Superline Extra Wide Gap (EWG) Hooks are engineered for anglers targeting big bass and fishing in heavy cover with braided lines. Featuring a high-carbon, heavy-wire construction, these hooks are exceptionally strong yet flexible, designed to withstand the demands of no-stretch braided lines without straightening.
The extra-wide gap accommodates larger soft plastics, ensuring positive hooksets even with bulky baits, while the strategically placed lead weight enhances casting distance, stabilizes bait for a natural presentation, and promotes a faster sink rate—ideal for flipping or pitching in thick tules, mats, or pads without additional sinkers.
These hooks boast Gamakatsu’s renowned surgical sharpness, achieved through a cutting-edge sharpening process that delivers a perfectly conical point for superior performance.
