 The Shimano Current Sniper Jerkbait is designed with Shimano's unique Propulsion Weight Transfer System for exceptional long distance casting - allowing the internal weight to slide back during the cast, and then springing forward when the lure hits the water. Ideal to target both calico bass and Yellowtail in SoCal waters and stripers on the East coast.  This was previously known as the Coltsniper.

Along with covering lots of water from lengthy casts - up to 22-percent longer than similar weight and length lures, anglers can work the Currentsniper jerkbait in a tight wobble action, or slide action by jerking it. With a slow floating design, it can be fished down to 3 - to 5-foot depths. Chemical finish treble hooks are featured at both mid-body and at the tail.

We all know longer casts mean more water covered and the Rapala X-Rap Long Cast allows you to do just that.  Rapala has increased the weight of the 14 size to 1 7/8oz from the original X-Rap which weighs 1 1/2oz.  That's 3/8oz more weight for approximately 25% additional casting distance.  If you make 100 casts at 30 feet per cast you'd cover 3000 feet.  By using the Rapala X-Rap Long Cast, that means you will cover 750 more feet in the same period of time!  That a lot of acreage covered just by using this lure.  

We are excited about fishing this long cast version for yellowtail, calico bass, and tuna.  Often times the fish are boat shy and getting just a few yards more on a cast can make that difference between a good day and a great day.  They all feature 3X strong VMC single tin hooks for maximum penetration and strength.

The old sayhing about Ande Line is "Andy is dandy because it's rubber-bandy."  The stretch in this line is amazing and is known as an insurance policy on big fish.  The more the line stretches, the less chance of it breaking.  It simply rebounds to it's previous self during the fight.  That said, after you catch a big fish you should change your leader out.

The Izorline Rod Belt with Gimball is designed with local tuna in mind.  We find that the added padding is very comfortable but not bulky.  The stitching is heavy duty and all the materials are made to stand up to the harshest fishing environments.  Some have the gimbal pin and some don't but the picture shows which is which.  

Some ask why wouldn't you want the gimbal pin.  The answer is that you have more freedom of movement without the pin but on bigger fish, the pin acts like a fulcrum point and makes pumping the rod easier.  If you use the gimbal pin, make sure your rod has a gimbal on the butt.

The Halco Roosta Popper 135 is perfect for targeting game fish that are aggressively  attacking bait fish near or on the surface.  The hardware on these poppers is of the highest quality and will stand up to big fish like tuna, GT's, dorado, and peacock bass. They are best used with a heavy spinning rod and reel due to the higher inches of line retrieved per crank.  We prefer to have braided line with a short 3' top shot of monofilament or fluorocarbon.

While designed with a blooping style retrieve in mind, the Roosta Haymaker can be simply wound in at speed or trolled for excellent results.The recommended method of retrieval for best results is to point the rod tip at the lure, retrieve any slack line and firmly sweep the rod tip in a downward motion approximately 45 degrees. Allow the lure to rest for several seconds and if a fish hasn't taken the lure repeat as necessary.

Why the Heavy Models Are So Long

On a rail rod, a large share of the length is foregrip. Once that foregrip is laid on the rail, you may have only four or five feet of blank actually fighting the fish. The more rod you have outside the rail on the water side, the more the fish has to work against — and the fulcrum becomes the boat instead of your arms and back. That's why the 2X Heavy and above run long, and why length on those models isn't about casting distance.
