Vertrex Max Soft Vibe is suited to be fished at depths from 40ft-200ft of water. The Vertrex Max can be fished in a similar way to a slow pitch jig. The best technique is to drop them to the bottom and then use 3-10 slow lifts with a short pause off the bottom to get it vibrating on the lift and then as it glides back down on the drop it will often get hit. They can be worked fast or slow, but the Vertrex Max is has huge vibration at slow speeds making it highly effective for this technique.

The Savage Gear 3D Shine Glide 185 is a slow sinking erratic swimming glide bait. These baits have been deadly on a multitude of game fish from largemouth bass to musky. On a slow retrieve the bait glides from side to side. A pop of the rod tip will increase the darting action. Deadly on a twitch and stop retrieve.

We like to fish this bait slowly with a steady retrieve but there are times when we twitch the rod tip.  It washes out if its fished too quickly and we usually get bit on a slow and steady retrieve.  Another favorite method is to start twitching it as soon as it hits the surface.  A slow methodical upward pump of the rod tip while slowly turning the handle makes this bait flop back and forth on the surface.  Keeping this going can keep the bait in the strike zone longer, giving the fish an irresistible presentation.

Seaguar Invizx Fluorocarbon Line is at the top of it's class. We love this line for many reasons but the most impressive thing is how limp and strong it is. The limpness is great when using Seaguar Invizx on spinning reels. This reduces memory allowing you to cast further without the curly-que effect.

Lots of fluorocarbon lines lose strength when they improve limpness, but Seaguar was able to keep this line strong and sensitive. It's as sensitive as your girlfriend in high school but as strong as your Russian masseuse. As with all Seaguar fluorocarbon lines, it's diameter is very thin. There are many ways to fish the hookup bait but casting it out and letting it fall on a tight line will pendulum it down in an arc.  This can be very effective since it allows the bait to swim as it falls.  This is effective when fish are suspended in the column and not on the top or bottom.

If fish are on the bottom, we like to let it sink to the bottom and pop it off the bottom and then allowing it to sink back down.  Continue this retrieve all the way back to the boat or shore.

If they are in the upper part of the column, cast and start retrieving soon after the lure hits the surface.  Most of the time a slow and steady retrieve works best but you can also burn it on the surface for very active surface feeding fish.

The Carolina Keeper might be the best thing ever invented.  It's a simple piece of hard plastic that has a small slit through the middle.  If you hold it in your pliers with the slit perpendicular to the pliers and squeeze it, the slit will open up enough so you can slip your fishing line into it.  

These keep your weight or bobber from slipping down to the hook without having to tie a swivel on.  It saves you two knots and is very easy to use.  If you want the length between the wight and hook increased, just squeeze it and move it up the line further.  

It's perfect when you don't want your weight to slide down to your hook.  You no longer have to use a swivel and it saves you having to tie two knots.

We like it rigged on a 4/0 wide gap hook from Owner or Gamakatsu EWG but our favorite is the Owner 4/0 Beast Hook.  The beast hook gap is larger allowing for the hook to come through the plastic for better hooks sets.  The screw in CPS spring holds it extremely well and won't tear out in most circumstances.  

It has the skirted bottom of a tube, and the body of a grub with a little extra bulk. With the Fat Ika you can jig and swim more accurately than with most tube baits.

As it falls, it has a built-in side to side movement, which is all the bass need some days.

The Halco Roosta Popper 160 is perfect for targeting game fish that are aggressively  attacking bait fish near or on the surface.  The hardware on these poppers is of the highest quality and will stand up to big fish like tuna, GT's, dorado, and peacock bass. They are best used with a heavy spinning rod and reel due to the higher inches of line retrieved per crank.  We prefer to have braided line with a short 3' top shot of monofilament or fluorocarbon.

While designed with a blooping style retrieve in mind, the Roosta Haymaker can be simply wound in at speed or trolled for excellent results.The recommended method of retrieval for best results is to point the rod tip at the lure, retrieve any slack line and firmly sweep the rod tip in a downward motion approximately 45 degrees. Allow the lure to rest for several seconds and if a fish hasn't taken the lure repeat as necessary.
