A decent week of fishing as the bite on one to four pound fish contiunues in the 15 to 25 foot range, with finesse plastics accounting for the bulk of the action. Wacky rigged stick baits like the C3 Baits Slim Pro or 4-1/2″ straight-tailed RoboWorms on the dropshot were the most consistent baits and techniques.

Largemouth and Smallmouth Bass:

A decent week of fishing as the bite on one to four pound fish contiunues in the 15 to 25 foot range, with finesse plastics accounting for the bulk of the action. Wacky rigged stick baits like the C3 Baits Slim Pro or 4-1/2″ straight-tailed RoboWorms on the dropshot were the most consistent baits and techniques. Light-line Carolina rigs with a C3 Baits Shimmy in the Neptune Shad pattern has been working best when the fish go deeper during the day. Crankbaits and hard jerkbaits in the smaller sizes are getting a few bites as well. Look for rocky areas near deep water in the bigger coves along with shallower main lake points that taper off into deep water.

Striped Bass:

With the exception of a few topwater fish hitting Riser Baits and Espetit 95’s, not much has changed since last week as the bulk of the fish remain spread out in deeper water from 20 to 50 feet. Umbrella rigs and Keitech Fat Swing Impacts have been consisitent in the 20′ depth range on warmer days, with jigging spoons and tailspinners getting some quality bites as well. Trolling is slowly improving as the water cools and the fish start to school up offshore.
