Largemouth and Smallmouth Bass:

The great Fall fishing fishing that we all anticipated and hoped for was on full display, as both numbers and size were available most of the week. Unfortunately, next week’s forecast of North winds and air temps in the low 60’s every day will most likely see the lake closed and conditions deteriorate. Hopefully there will be a string of warmer days in the following weeks to prolong the excellent Fall bite. Falling water levels and shorter days will inevitably spell the end of what was an excellent season.

Striped Bass:

Surface boils are in the rear view mirror on what was an exciting Summer and Fall bite. There are still some fish biting for anglers utilizing reaction baits like umbrella rigs, KastMasters and Keitech Fat Swing Impact paddletails on jigheads. Trolling Yak flies on lead core is slowly gaining speed as the schools go deeper and get into the bigger coves. The swimbait bite for trophy Stripers following Trout plants will surely bring some excitement and the cut bait bite should materialize when the water temps bottom out.
